A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Depressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).

C. Get Access
(1) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(3) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to ON.
(4) Remove partition 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
(5) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(6) Open potable-water service door 171AL.

4. Procedure
Subtask 38-14-47-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Control Cable 3254MM
(1) Remove and discard the cotter pin (9).
(2) Remove the washer (8) and the pin (7).
(3) Loosen the nut (10) but do not remove it.
(4) Turn the sliding end (11) clockwise and remove it from the cable (3).
(5) Loosen the nut (1) at the control handle assembly (12).
(6) Remove the sealant from around the flange of the control handle (12) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(7) Remove the nuts (15), the screws (13) and the washers (14).
(8) Remove the control handle assembly (12) from the service panel.
(9) Loosen the nut (1) at the swivel end (6) and remove the casing (2).
(10) Remove the nut (4), the washer (5) and the swivel end (6).

A. Removal of the Control Cable
(1) Remove and discard the cotter pin (7).
(2) Remove the pin (10), the washers (9) and (8).
(3) Loosen the nut (11).
(4) Turn the sliding end (12) clockwise and remove it from the cable (3).
(5) Loosen the nut (1) at the control handle assembly (15).
(6) Remove the sealant around the flange of the control handle assembly (15) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(7) Remove the nuts (16), the screws (13) and the washers (14).
(8) Remove the control handle assembly (15) from the service panel.
(9) Loosen the nut (1) at the swivel end (6) and remove the casing (2).
(10) Remove the nut (4), the washer (5) and the swivel end (6).
