A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the potable water system is drained (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-001).

C. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Clean and disinfect the component interface and/or the adjacent area (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-670-805).

Subtask 38-14-46-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of Fill/Drain Valve 16MA
(1) Remove the blanking plugs and blanking caps.
(2) Put fill/drain valve 16MA (2) in position and install the bolts (3), the washers (4) and the spacers (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(3) Connect the pipes (1), (6) and (14) to fill/drain valve 16MA (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-38-400-003).
(5) Install the pin (13) with the washers (11).
(6) Safety the pin (13) with the new AIPC 38-14-49-01-170 COTTER PIN (10).
Subtask 38-14-46-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the blanking plugs and blanking caps.
(2) Put fill/drain valve 16MA (2) in position and install the bolts (3), the washers (4) and the spacers (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(3) Connect the pipes (1), (6) and (14) to fill/drain valve 16MA (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-38-400-003).
NOTE: Make sure that the pipes (1), (6) and (14) are installed without tension.
(4) Put the control cable (12) in position. (5) Install the pin (13) with the washers (11).
(6) Safety the pin (13) with the new AIPC 38-14-49-01-170 COTTER PIN (10).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(7) Connect electrical connector 16MA-A (7). B. Preparation for Test
(1) Fill the potable water system with 50 l (13.2085 USgal) water (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
(2) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001) or (Ref. AMM D/O 38-10-00-61).
(3) Examine fill/drain valve 16MA for leaks.
Subtask 38-14-46-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Fill the potable water system with 50 l (13.2085 USgal) water (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
(2) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001) or (Ref. AMM D/O 38-10-00-61).
(3) Examine fill/drain valve 16MA for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install access panels 161DW and 162DW.
(3) Install the insulation (8) and (9) around fill/drain valve 16MA.
(b) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 38-14-46-862-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install access panels 161DW and 162DW.
(3) Install the insulation (8) and (9) around fill/drain valve 16MA.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE INSULATION DOES NOT STOP THE OPERATION OF THE VALVE.
(a) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004). (b) Remove the access platform(s).
