A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized from the external power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the potable water system is drained (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-001).

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

C. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) If removed, put the insulation sleeve (12) in position.

Subtask 38-14-45-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Drain Valve Assembly
(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) If removed, install the insulation sleeve (12).
(3) Put the spacers (1) and the drain valve assembly (6) in their installation positions.
(4) Make sure that the lever of the drain valve assembly (6) is in the SHUT position.
(5) Install the washers (3) and the bolts (4).
(6) Tighten the bolts (4).
(7) Protect the bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(8) Install the linkage (8) on the drain valve assembly (6).
(9) Install the pin (9), the washer (10) and the new AIPC 38-14-48-01-040 COTTER PIN (11).
(10) Connect the pipe (5) and the hose (2) to the drain valve assembly (6).
(11) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
Subtask 38-14-45-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) If removed, install the insulation sleeve (12).
(3) Put the spacers (1) and the drain valve assembly (6) in their installation positions.
(4) Make sure that the lever of the drain valve assembly (6) is in the SHUT position.
(5) Install the washers (3) and the bolts (4).
(6) Tighten the bolts (4).
(7) Protect the bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(8) Install the linkage (8) on the drain valve assembly (6).
(9) Install the pin (9), the washer (10) and the new AIPC 38-14-48-01-040 COTTER PIN (11).
(10) Connect the pipe (5) and the hose (2) to the drain valve assembly (6).
(11) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN WHEN YOU CONNECT THEM. THE CONTAMINATION OF ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(12) Connect the electrical connector (7) to the drain valve assembly (6). B. Preparation for Test
(1) Fill the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
(2) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
(3) Examine the drain valve 14MP and the connections for leaks.
Subtask 38-14-45-865-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Fill the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
(2) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
(3) Examine the drain valve 14MP and the connections for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Close Access
(1) Close the insulation sleeve (12).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Install access panel 132PW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-001).
(4) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to OFF position.
(5) Close FWD cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(6) Remove the access platform(s).

(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Install access panel 132PW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-001).
(4) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to OFF position.
(5) Close FWD cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(6) Remove the access platform(s).
