A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized from the external power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the potable water system is deprssurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

C. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) If removed, put the insulation sleeve (11) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 38-14-44-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Overflow valve 8MP
   (1) Put the overflow valve (1) in position and install the spacers (8), the washers (9) and the bolts (10).
   (2) Remove the blanking plugs.
   (3) Connect the connections (2) to the overflow valve 8MP (1) and tighten.
   (4) Remove the blanking caps
   (5) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (6) Connect the electrical connector 8MP-A (3) to the overflow valve 8MP (1).
   (7) Put the control cable (6) in position.
   (8) Install the pin (7), the washer (5) and a new AIPC 38-14-48-01-040 COTTER PIN (4).

B. Preparation for Test
   (1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) If necessary fill the potable water tank (
Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
   (3) Presssurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
   (4) Examine the overflow valve 8MP (1) and the connections for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

ACTION
RESULT
1.At the service panel 2023VU:
  • turn and pull the fill and drain control handle from the NORMAL to the FILL position.
In the overflow system:
  • the motorized overflow valve 8MP opens.

At the drain and overflow panel 192NB:
  • air comes out of the overflow port.

At the service panel 2023VU:
  • the overflow valve control light 6MP comes on.

In the overflow system:
  • push and turn the fill and drain control handle from the FILL to the NORMAL position.
  • the motorized overflow valve 8MP closes.

    At the drain and overflow panel 192NB:
  • no air comes out of the overflow port.

At the service panel 2023VU:
  • the control light 6MP goes off.
NOTE: Do the next step quickly, water will flow from all the drain ports.
2.At the service panel 2023VU:
  • turn and pull the fill and drain control handle from the NORMAL to the DRAIN position.
In the overflow system:
  • the motorized overflow valve 8MP opens.

At the drain and overflow panel 192NB:
  • air comes out of the overflow port.
  • water flows from the drain port.

At the service panel 2023VU:
  • the control lights 2MP, 6MP and 12MP come on.
3.At the service panel 2023VU:
  • push the fill and drain control handle in.
At the service panel 2023VU:
  • the fill and drain control handle returns to the NORMAL position.

In the overflow system:
  • the motorized overflow valve 8MP closes.

At the drain and overflow panel 192NB:
  • no air comes out of the overflow port.
  • the flow of water stops from the drain port.

At the service panel 2023VU:
  • the control lights 2MP, 6MP and 12MP go off.
5. Close-up
Subtask 38-14-44-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the insulation sleeve (11).
   (3) Install the access panel 132PW.
   (4) Close the Fwd cargo compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (5) Close the access panel 171AL.
   (6) Remove the access platform(s).

B. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
