A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the potable water tank and potable water lines (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-002) are drained.
Subtask 38-14-41-010-056-A (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the potable water tank and potable water lines (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-002) are drained.
B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at forward cargo-compartment door 825.
(2) Make sure that forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003) is open.
(3) Make sure that cargo-compartment light switch 6LU is in ON position.
(4) Make sure that sidewall panel 131HW is removed in the forward cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003).
(5) Make sure that the insulation blanket is removed from drain valve [4MP] .
Subtask 38-14-41-865-054-A (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at forward cargo-compartment door 825.
(2) Make sure that forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003) is open.
(3) Make sure that cargo-compartment light switch 6LU is in ON position.
(4) Make sure that sidewall panel 131HW is removed in the forward cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003).
(5) Make sure that the insulation blanket is removed from drain valve [4MP] .
C. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

Subtask 38-14-41-420-051-A
A. Installation of the Drain Valve Assembly
(1) Put the drain valve assembly (3) in position on the support (8).
(2) Make sure that the lever of the drain valve assembly (3) is in the SHUT position.
(4) Install the spacers (5), the washers (2) and the screws (1).
(5) Prevent the bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Tighten the screws (1).
(7) Connect the linkage (12) to the drain valve assembly (3).
(8) Install the pin (11), the washer (10) and the new AIPC 38-14-48-01-040 PIN (9).
(9) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(10) Connect the pipe (4) to the drain valve assembly (3).
(11) Connect the tee (13) to the drain valve assembly (3). (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-38-400-003).
(12) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
5. Close-up(1) Put the drain valve assembly (3) in position on the support (8).
(2) Make sure that the lever of the drain valve assembly (3) is in the SHUT position.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE BONDING STRAP(S) IS(ARE) CONNECTED BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRE(S).
(3) Put the bonding strap (6) in position.(4) Install the spacers (5), the washers (2) and the screws (1).
(5) Prevent the bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Tighten the screws (1).
(7) Connect the linkage (12) to the drain valve assembly (3).
(8) Install the pin (11), the washer (10) and the new AIPC 38-14-48-01-040 PIN (9).
(9) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(10) Connect the pipe (4) to the drain valve assembly (3).
(11) Connect the tee (13) to the drain valve assembly (3). (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-38-400-003).
(12) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(13) Connect the electrical connector (7) to the drain valve assembly (3). Subtask 38-14-41-865-055-A
A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Close Access
(1) Install the insulation blanket on drain valve [4MP] .
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Install sidewall panel 131HW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-003).
(4) Set cargo-compartment light switch 6LU to OFF position.
(5) Close forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
(6) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 38-14-41-862-051-A (1) Install the insulation blanket on drain valve [4MP] .
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Install sidewall panel 131HW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-003).
(4) Set cargo-compartment light switch 6LU to OFF position.
(5) Close forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
(6) Remove the access platform(s).
Drain Valve
