A. Energize the ground service network (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Drain the potable water tank and potable water lines (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-002).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at forward cargo-compartment door 825.
   (2) Open forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
   (3) Set cargo-compartment light switch 6LU to ON position.
   (4) In the forward cargo compartment, remove sidewall panel 131HW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003) .
   (5) Remove the insulation blanket from drain valve [4MP] .

4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Drain Valve Assembly
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (7) from the drain valve assembly (3).
   (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (3) Disconnect the tee (13).
NOTE: If the swivel nut connection is blocked, it is possible to loosen the other connections of the tee (13) and remove the drain valve assembly (3) together with the tee (13).
   (4) Disconnect the pipe (4).
   (5) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (6) Remove and discard the cotter pin (9).
   (7) Remove the washer (10).
   (8) Remove the pin (11) and disconnect the linkage (12).
   (9) Remove the screws (1), the washers (2) and the spacers (5).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL WIRE(S) IS(ARE) DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BONDING STRAP(S).
   (10) Disconnect the bonding strap (6).
   (11) Remove the drain valve assembly (3) from the support (8).
