3. Job Set-up

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the AFT cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Make sure that the lights in the AFT cargo compartment, are set to the ON position.
(4) Make sure that the floor panel 161DW is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
(5) Make sure that the access platforms are in position:

Under the access door 171AL of the potable-water service-panel.
At the AFT cargo-compartment door.

(6) Make sure that the access door 171AL of the potable water-service panel is open.
(7) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons:

Not to do the servicing of the potable water system.
Not to operate the control handle 3254MM at the potable-water service panel.
That the draining system will not operate electrically.

4. Procedure
Subtask 38-14-19-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Installation of the Limit Switch 5MP

Fill Condition Limit Switch ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the nut (1) and the washer (2) from the new limit switch 5MP (5)
(4) Make sure that the O-ring (4) is installed on the limit switch.
(5) Put the limit switch 5MP (5) in position in the bracket (3).
(6) Install the stainless steel lockwire 14QDB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES Nickel Alloy - in the hole of the washer (2).
(7) Install the washer (2) and the nut (1).

NOTE: The axis of the limit switch 5MP (5) must align with the pulley of the control handle (3254MM).

(8) Safety the nut (1) with the stainless steel lockwire 14QDB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES Nickel Alloy - from the washer (2).
(9) Pull the control handle (3254MM) out 30.0 +2 mm or -2 mm (1.1811 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.) and listen for the limit switch 5MP to klick, if necessary adjust the switch (Ref. AMM TASK 38-14-00-820-001).
(10) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(11) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(12) Connect the electrical connector 5MP-A (6).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Do the operational test of the potable water drain system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-14-00-710-001).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the floor-panel 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(3) In the AFT cargo compartment, on the control panel 5024VE set the light switch 30LU to the OFF position.
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(6) Close the access door 171AL.

NOTE: Make sure that the latches are correctly locked and that the door makes a continuous surface with the skin of the aircraft.

(7) Remove the access platform(s).
(8) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

B. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
