C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position at Zone 171.
   (2) Open the access panels 133AL 171AL.
   (3) Remove the cap from the fill/drain port at the water service panel 2023VU.

D. Connection of the Drain Hoses
   (1) Connect the HOSE - DRAIN to the potable water fill and drain port at the service panel 2023VU.
   (2) Connect the HOSE - DRAIN to the potable water drain-port at the forward drain panel.

E. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position at Zone 171.
   (2) Open the access panels 133AL 192NB 171AL.
   (3) Remove the cap from the fill/drain port at the water service panel 2023VU.

F. Connection of the Drain Hoses
   (1) Connect the HOSE - DRAIN to the potable water fill and drain port at the service panel 2023VU.
   (2) Connect the HOSE - DRAIN to the potable water drain-port at the forward drain panel.
   (3) Connect the HOSE - DRAIN to the drain port at the drain and overflow panel.

G. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that all the water shutoff valves in the lavatories and galleys are open.
   (2) Make sure that there is sufficient water in the system before you do this test.
4. Procedure
Subtask 38-14-00-710-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Do this test.
ACTION
RESULT
1.At the service panel 2023VU:

  • turn and pull the control handle from the NORMAL position to the DRAIN position.
At the service panel 2023VU and the drain panel 133AL:
  • the motorized fill/overflow drain valve 8MA opens.
  • the motorized drain valve 4MP opens.
  • the drain valve control light 2MP comes on.
  • water flows from both drain ports.

  • push and turn the control handle from the DRAIN position to the NORMAL position.
  • the motorized fill/overflow drain valve 8MA closes.
  • the drain valve control light 2MP goes off.
  • the motorized drain valve 4MP closes.
  • the flow of water stops from the drain ports.
2.At the circuit breaker panel 2001VU:
  • open the circuit breaker 1MP.
NOTE: This section of the text is to test the valves mechanically.
At the service panel 2023VU:

  • the motorized drain valve 4MP is out of operation.
3.At the service panel 2023VU:

  • turn and pull the control handle from the NORMAL position to the DRAIN position.
At the service panel 2023VU and the drain panel 133AL:
  • the motorized fill/overflow drain valve 8MA opens.
  • water flows from the drain port.
  • the motorized drain valve 4MP stays closed.
  • the drain valve control light 2MP stays off.
4.At the drain panel 133AL:

  • move the drain handle from the SHUT to the DRAIN position.
At the service panel 2023VU and the drain panel 133AL:
  • the motorized drain valve 4MP opens.
  • water flows from the drain port.
  • the drain valve control light 2MP stays off.
5.At the drain panel 133AL and the service panel 2023VU:
  • move the drain handle from the DRAIN to the SHUT position.
  • push and turn the control handle from the DRAIN to the NORMAL position.
At the drain panel 133AL and the service panel 2023VU:
  • the motorized drain valve 4MP closes.

  • the motorized fill/overflow drain valve 8MA closes.
  • the flow of water stops from both the drain ports.
6.At the circuit breaker panel 2001VU:
  • close the circuit breaker 1MP.
At the service panel 2023VU:

  • the indication light 2MP is off.

3.At the service panel 2023VU:
At the service panel 2023VU, the drain panel 133AL and the drain and overflow panel 192NB:
  • turn and pull the control handle from the NORMAL position to the DRAIN position.
  • the motorized fill/drain valve 16MA opens.
  • water flows from the drain port.
  • the motorized drain valve 4MP stays closed.
  • the motorized overflow valve 8MP stays closed.
  • the motorized drain valve 14MP stays closed.
  • the overflow valve control light 6MP stays off.
  • the drain valve control light 12MP stays off.
  • the drain valve control light 2MP stays off.

NOTE: Water with a decreased flow will drain from the fill and drain port. This is because the overflow valve 8MP is closed.
4.At the drain panel 133AL, the drain and overflow panel 192NB:

  • move the drain handle of the drain valve 4MP from the SHUT to the OPEN position.
  • move the drain handle of the drain valve 14MP from the SHUT to the OPEN position.
  • move the overflow handle of the overflow valve 8MP from the SHUT to the OPEN position.
At the service panel 2023VU and the drain panel 133AL:
  • the motorized drain valve 4MP opens.
  • the motorized drain valve 14MP opens.
  • the motorized overflow valve 8MP opens.
  • water flows from the drain ports.
  • the drain valve control light 2MP stays off.
  • the drain valve control light 12MP stays off.
  • the overflow valve control light 6MP stays off.
5.At the drain panel 133AL, the drain and overflow panel 192NB, and the service panel 2023VU:
  • move the drain handle of the drain valve 4MP from the DRAIN to the SHUT position.
  • move the drain handle of the drain valve 14MP from the DRAIN to the SHUT position.
  • move the control handle of the overflow valve 8MP from the OPEN to the SHUT position.
  • push and turn the control handle of the fill/drain valve 16MA from the DRAIN to the NORMAL position.
At the drain panel 133AL, the drain and overflow panel 192NB, and the service panel 2023VU:
  • the motorized drain valve 4MP closes.

  • the motorized drain valve 14MP closes.

  • the motorized overflow valve 8MP closes.


  • the motorized fill/drain valve 16MA closes.
  • the flow of water stops from the three drain ports.
6.At the circuit breaker panel 2001VU:
  • close the circuit breaker 1MP.
At the service panel 2023VU:

  • all the indication lights are off.

A. Remove the drain hoses from the drain ports.

B. Fill the Potable Water System
   (1) Fill the potable water tank 3000MM (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
   (2) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
   (3) Operate the water faucets to bleed the potable water system.
   (4) Turn on all the water heaters.

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access panels 171AL 133AL.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
