A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the potable water-shutoff valve in the lavatory is closed.
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the potable water-shutoff valve in the lavatory is closed.

Subtask 38-12-41-420-051-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Water-Faucet Self-Closing Element.
(2) If removed, install the cartridge assembly in the faucet housing (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 38-12-41-400-008).
(4) Disinfect the self-closing element (6) and the faucet housing (7) with Disinfectant-Potable Water System - Legacy (Material No.11AKG9) .
(6) Install the spring (5) and the grip sleeve (4).
(7) Install the new AIPC 38-12-41-05-020 SPRING CLIP (3).
(8) Install the cap assembly (2):
(a) Loosely install the screw (1) in the side-borehole of the cap assembly (2).
(b) Install the cap assembly (2) on the faucet housing (7).
(c) Align the screw (1) of the cap assembly (2) with the rear side of the faucet housing (7).
(d) Tighten the screw (1) with the ALLEN KEY - DRIVER PNR ISO 2936-2.5.
Subtask 38-12-41-790-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT YOU USE FOR THIS PROCEDURE IS CLEAN AND APPROVED FOR THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. IF NOT IT CAN CAUSE CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM.
(1) Remove the blanking plugs from the faucet housing (7). (2) If removed, install the cartridge assembly in the faucet housing (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 38-12-41-400-008).
NOTE: This procedure for the installation of the water-faucet self-closing element is the same in all lavatories.
(3) Remove the self-closing element (6) from the CONTAINER - CLEAN, APPLICABLE. (4) Disinfect the self-closing element (6) and the faucet housing (7) with Disinfectant-Potable Water System - Legacy (Material No.11AKG9) .
NOTE: Spray the disinfectant from a distance of approximately 10 cm maximum.
NOTE: The disinfectant must react with surfaces for 5 minutes minimum.
NOTE: The disinfected components should not be dried after the disinfection and should be installed in wet condition.
(5) Use a W035090087 SPECIAL KEY to install the self-closing element (6). (6) Install the spring (5) and the grip sleeve (4).
(7) Install the new AIPC 38-12-41-05-020 SPRING CLIP (3).
(8) Install the cap assembly (2):
(a) Loosely install the screw (1) in the side-borehole of the cap assembly (2).
(b) Install the cap assembly (2) on the faucet housing (7).
(c) Align the screw (1) of the cap assembly (2) with the rear side of the faucet housing (7).
(d) Tighten the screw (1) with the ALLEN KEY - DRIVER PNR ISO 2936-2.5.
B. Leak Check.
(1) Open the potable water shutoff valve in the lavatory.
(2) Make sure that there is enough water in the potable water tank, if necessary fill (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
(3) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
(4) Operate the water faucet and make sure that it functions correctly.
(5) If necessary do the adjustment of the water-flow time of the water faucet (Ref. AMM TASK 38-12-00-820-001).
(6) Make sure that there are no leaks, leaks are not allowed.
5. Close-up(1) Open the potable water shutoff valve in the lavatory.
(2) Make sure that there is enough water in the potable water tank, if necessary fill (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
(3) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
(4) Operate the water faucet and make sure that it functions correctly.
(5) If necessary do the adjustment of the water-flow time of the water faucet (Ref. AMM TASK 38-12-00-820-001).
(6) Make sure that there are no leaks, leaks are not allowed.
