3. Job Set-up
Subtask 38-12-16-860-051-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make that the electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
   (3) Make sure that the shutoff valves are in the CLOSED position.
   (4) Make sure that the switch is in the OFF position:
     (a) If necessary, use a FLASHLIGHT and MIRROR - INSPECTION, FLEXIBLE to find the power switch of the water heater.
   (5) Make sure that a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) is below the water heater to collect the unwanted water.

C. Preparation of the Removed Component
   (1) Clean and disinfect the component interface and/or the adjacent area (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-670-805).
   (2) Make sure that the component is in a good condition.
4. Procedure
Subtask 38-12-16-420-051-C
A. Installation of the Water Heater (1)
   (1) Put the water heater (1) in position.
   (2) Install the clamps (2).
     (a) TORQUE the clamps (2) with the P/N ASNA0032-112 and a width of 13 mm (0.51 in.) to 0.6 m.daN (53.10 lbf.in ) T.
     (b) TORQUE the clamps (2) with the P/N ASNA0033-112 and a width of 8 mm (0.31 in.) to 0.2 m.daN (17.70 lbf.in )
T.
   (3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (4) Connect the pipes (3) and (4) to the water heater (1) and TORQUE to between 1.69 and 1.41 m.daN (12.46 and 10.40 lbf.ft )
T.
   (5) Put the bonding strap (6) in position and install the nut (5).
   (6) Protect the bonding (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (7) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (8) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (9) Connect the electrical connector (8).

B. Preparation for Test
   (1) Turn the shutoff valve (9) to the OPEN position.
   (2) Turn the switch (7) to the ON position:
     (a) If necessary, use a FLASHLIGHT and MIRROR - INSPECTION, FLEXIBLE to find the switch (7) of the water heater (1).
   (3) If necessary fill the potable tank (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
   (4) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Leak Check
   (1) If necessary, fill the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
   (2) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
   (3) Make sure that the shutoff valves are in the open position.
   (4) Examine the water heater for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.

   (2) Remove the container.
   (3) Close the lavatory door.
