D. Get Access
(1) Get access to the lavatory.
(2) Turn the shutoff valve (9) to the CLOSED position.
(3) Turn the switch (7) to the OFF position:
(a) If necessary, use a FLASHLIGHT and MIRROR - INSPECTION, FLEXIBLE to find the switch (7) of the water heater (1).
(4) Push the water faucet to release the pressure from the water heater (1).
4. Procedure(1) Get access to the lavatory.
(2) Turn the shutoff valve (9) to the CLOSED position.
(3) Turn the switch (7) to the OFF position:
(a) If necessary, use a FLASHLIGHT and MIRROR - INSPECTION, FLEXIBLE to find the switch (7) of the water heater (1).
(4) Push the water faucet to release the pressure from the water heater (1).
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE WATER HEATER UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
Subtask 38-12-16-020-052-C A. Removal of the Water Heater (1)
(1) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the water heater to collect the unwanted water.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (8).
(3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(4) Remove the nut (5) and disconnect the bonding strap (6).
(5) Disconnect the pipes (3) and (4) from the water heater (1).
(6) Remove the clamps (2).
(7) Remove the water heater (1).
(8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(9) Dry the area with a lint-free cotton cloth, Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(1) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the water heater to collect the unwanted water.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (8).
(3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(4) Remove the nut (5) and disconnect the bonding strap (6).
(5) Disconnect the pipes (3) and (4) from the water heater (1).
(6) Remove the clamps (2).
(7) Remove the water heater (1).
(8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(9) Dry the area with a lint-free cotton cloth, Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
