A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the potable water system is drained (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-002).
(3) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position on the potable-water service panel to tell persons not to fill or pressurize the potable water system.
(5) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is open and safetied (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
(6) Make sure that cargo-compartment light switch 8LU is set to ON position.
(7) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
(8) Make sure that partition 161DW is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
Subtask 38-12-11-865-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the potable water system is drained (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-002).
(3) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position on the potable-water service panel to tell persons not to fill or pressurize the potable water system.
(5) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is open and safetied (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
(6) Make sure that cargo-compartment light switch 8LU is set to ON position.
(7) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
(8) Make sure that partition 161DW is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

Subtask 38-12-11-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Water Conditioner
(2) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(3) Put the water conditioner (4) in its installation position through the clamps (3).
(4) Loosely tighten the clamps (3) with your hand.
(5) Connect the water lines (1) and (5) to the water conditioner (4).
(6) Tighten the water lines (1) and (5).
(7) Tighten the clamps (3).
Subtask 38-12-11-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT YOU USE FOR THIS PROCEDURE IS CLEAN AND APPROVED FOR THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. IF NOT IT CAN CAUSE CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM.
(1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(2) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(3) Put the water conditioner (4) in its installation position through the clamps (3).
(4) Loosely tighten the clamps (3) with your hand.
(5) Connect the water lines (1) and (5) to the water conditioner (4).
(6) Tighten the water lines (1) and (5).
(7) Tighten the clamps (3).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Fill the potable water system to the 50% level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-002).

(1) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-003).
(2) Examine the water conditioner connections for leaks.

(2) Examine the water conditioner connections for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
Subtask 38-12-11-410-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Fold the insulation pack (2) around the water conditioner (4).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Install partition 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Set cargo-compartment light switch 8LU to OFF position.
(6) Remove the safety device and close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).
(7) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
Subtask 38-12-11-862-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Fold the insulation pack (2) around the water conditioner (4).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Install partition 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Set cargo-compartment light switch 8LU to OFF position.
(6) Remove the safety device and close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).
(7) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
