B. Drain the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-002).

D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the potable-water service panel to tell persons not to fill or pressurize the potable water system.
(3) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
(4) Set cargo-compartment light switch 8LU to ON position.
(5) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) below partition 161DW.
(6) Remove partition 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the potable-water service panel to tell persons not to fill or pressurize the potable water system.
(3) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
(4) Set cargo-compartment light switch 8LU to ON position.
(5) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) below partition 161DW.
(6) Remove partition 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).

A. Removal of the Water Conditioner
(2) Disconnect the water lines (1) and (5).
(3) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
(4) Loosen the clamps (3) and carefully remove the water conditioner (4).
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT YOU USE FOR THIS PROCEDURE IS CLEAN AND APPROVED FOR THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. IF NOT IT CAN CAUSE CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM.
(1) Open and remove the insulation pack (2) from around the water conditioner (4). (2) Disconnect the water lines (1) and (5).
(3) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
(4) Loosen the clamps (3) and carefully remove the water conditioner (4).
