Installation of the Potable Water Tank

WARNING:
YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN HOLD THE COMPONENT BEFORE YOU REMOVE/INSTALL IT. THE COMPONENT IS HEAVY. IF IT FALLS, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
WHILE YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE WATER TANK, BE CAREFUL NOT TO CAUSE DENTS OR DAMAGE TO IT. DENTS OR DAMAGE CAN CAUSE LEAKAGE IN THE WATER TANK.
NOTE: The weight of this equipment is approximately 16 kg (35 lb). More than one person is necessary for this procedure.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(3) Make sure that the potable water system is drained (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-002).
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in the position to tell the persons not to pressurize or fill the potable water tank.
(5) Make sure that ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in the position.
(6) Make sure that the cargo compartment door(s) is (are) open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
Subtask 38-11-41-865-057-A (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(3) Make sure that the potable water system is drained (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-002).

C. Preparation for Installation
Detail C.
(1) If necessary disassemble the distribution line (7).
(a) Remove the clamshell (6).
(b) Move the sleeve (5) back from over the O-rings (3).
(c) Remove and discard the O-rings (3).
(2) Assemble the distribution line (7).
(a) Install the new AIPC 38-11-03-03-130 O-RINGS (3) or AIPC 38-11-83-02-190 O-RINGS (3) on the pipes (4) and (7).
(b) Move the sleeve (5) over the O-rings (3) and install the clamshell (6).
(c) Make sure that the clamshell (6) is locked correctly:
Subtask 38-11-41-560-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Detail C.
(1) If necessary disassemble the distribution line (7).
(a) Remove the clamshell (6).
(b) Move the sleeve (5) back from over the O-rings (3).
(c) Remove and discard the O-rings (3).
(2) Assemble the distribution line (7).
(a) Install the new AIPC 38-11-03-03-130 O-RINGS (3) or AIPC 38-11-83-02-190 O-RINGS (3) on the pipes (4) and (7).
(b) Move the sleeve (5) over the O-rings (3) and install the clamshell (6).
(c) Make sure that the clamshell (6) is locked correctly:
- axial adjustment is more than 6.35mm
- angular misalignment is +/- 4 degree in any direction around centerline.
C. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the water tank is clean and in a good condition.
(2) Remove the blanking plugs.
(3) Install new AIPC 38-11-04-11-160 PACKING (15) or AIPC 38-11-84-11-160 PACKING (15) on the distribution lines (16) and (19).
(4) Install new AIPC 38-11-04-11-160 O-RINGS (4) on the distribution line (7).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the water tank is clean and in a good condition.
(2) Remove the blanking plugs.
(3) Install new AIPC 38-11-04-11-160 PACKING (15) or AIPC 38-11-84-11-160 PACKING (15) on the distribution lines (16) and (19).
(4) Install new AIPC 38-11-04-11-160 O-RINGS (4) on the distribution line (7).
Subtask 38-11-41-420-054-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Potable Water Tank
(1) Put the potable water tank 3000MM (1) in position.
(2) Install the clamps (2):
(b) Install the pin (9) the washer (10) and a new AIPC 38-11-03-01-040 COTTER PIN (11) or AIPC 38-11-83-01-050 COTTER PIN (11).
(d) Install the distribution line assembly (7) in the tank and connect the connector (8).
(e) Put the overflow line (14) in position and connect the connectors (15) and (13)
(f) Put the clamps (20) in position.
(g) Install the washers (19), bolts (18) and nuts (21).
(h) Install the air pressure line and connect the connector (16).
(i) Tighten the clamps (2) and TORQUE to between 0.66 and 0.54 m.daN (58.41 and 47.79 lbf.in )
.
(3) Connect the electrical connector (17):
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(c) Connect the electrical connector 3MA-A (17) to the quantity transmitter 3MA.
Subtask 38-11-41-420-054-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the potable water tank 3000MM (1) in position.
(2) Install the clamps (2):
WARNING:
INSTALL THE CLAMPS OF THE POTABLE WATER TANK IN A POSITION THAT WILL PREVENT POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
(a) Install the clamps (2) but do not tighten them. (b) Install the pin (9) the washer (10) and a new AIPC 38-11-03-01-040 COTTER PIN (11) or AIPC 38-11-83-01-050 COTTER PIN (11).
NOTE: Make sure that you do not dent or cause damage to the tank. Dents or damage to the tank could cause a leak to occur.
(c) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.(d) Install the distribution line assembly (7) in the tank and connect the connector (8).
(e) Put the overflow line (14) in position and connect the connectors (15) and (13)
(f) Put the clamps (20) in position.
(g) Install the washers (19), bolts (18) and nuts (21).
(h) Install the air pressure line and connect the connector (16).
(i) Tighten the clamps (2) and TORQUE to between 0.66 and 0.54 m.daN (58.41 and 47.79 lbf.in )
. (3) Connect the electrical connector (17):
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(c) Connect the electrical connector 3MA-A (17) to the quantity transmitter 3MA.
A. Installation of the Potable Water Tank
(1) Put the potable water tank 3000MM (10) in position.
(2) Put the brackets (20) in position.
(3) Install the bolts (23) the washers (22) and the nuts (21).
(4) Install the clamps (9):
(b) Install the pin (26) the washer (25) and a new AIPC 38-11-04-02-060 PIN (24) or AIPC 38-11-84-02-060 PIN (24).
(d) Put the overflow line (7) in position.
(e) Move the sleeve (5) in position over the O-rings (4) and install the clamshell (6).
(f) Make sure that the clamshell (6) is locked correctly:
(h) Put the distribution line assembly (16) in position.
(i) Move the sleeve (17) in position over the O-rings (15) and install the clamshell (18).
(j) Make sure that the clamshell (18) is locked correctly:

(5) Connect the electrical connector:
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(c) Connect the electrical connector 3MA-A to the quantity transmitter 3MA.
Subtask 38-11-41-560-056-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the potable water tank 3000MM (10) in position.
(2) Put the brackets (20) in position.
(3) Install the bolts (23) the washers (22) and the nuts (21).
(4) Install the clamps (9):
WARNING:

(a) Install the tank attach clamps (9) but do not tighten. (b) Install the pin (26) the washer (25) and a new AIPC 38-11-04-02-060 PIN (24) or AIPC 38-11-84-02-060 PIN (24).
NOTE: Make sure that you do not dent or cause damage to the tank. Dents or damage to the tank could cause a leak to occur.
(c) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.(d) Put the overflow line (7) in position.
(e) Move the sleeve (5) in position over the O-rings (4) and install the clamshell (6).
(f) Make sure that the clamshell (6) is locked correctly:
- axial adjustment is more than 6.35mm

B. Connection of the Pressure Switch 10MD
(1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Connect the electrical connector 10MD-A (1) to the pressure switch 10MD (2).
Subtask 38-11-41-865-058-A (1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Connect the electrical connector 10MD-A (1) to the pressure switch 10MD (2).
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Preparation for Test
(1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) Make sure that the potable water air system does not leak (Ref. AMM TASK 38-41-00-790-002).
(3) Fill the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
(4) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
Subtask 38-11-41-710-051-A (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) Make sure that the potable water air system does not leak (Ref. AMM TASK 38-41-00-790-002).
(3) Fill the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001).
(4) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
E. Test
(1) Do this test
(2) If necessary, do the test of the quantity indicating system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-13-00-710-001).
(3) Make sure that there are no leaks.

A. Close Access
(1) Install the center support strut at FR65 (Ref. AMM TASK 53-43-11-400-001) .
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Install the access panels 161DW 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
Subtask 38-11-41-410-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the center support strut at FR65 (Ref. AMM TASK 53-43-11-400-001) .
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Install the access panels 161DW 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
A. Close Access
(1) Install the air conditioning ducts:
(a) Install the rear duct (40).
Detail B and H:
1 Put the duct (40) in position.
2 Install the bellows (44) and (66).
3 Install the clamps (43) and (64).
4 Make sure that the bellows are located between the red marks.
5 Install the clamp (63) and make sure that it is fully around the bracket (65).
(b) Install the bracket assembly.
Detail J:
1 Put the bracket assembly in position.
2 Install the washers (60) and the bolts (61).
3 If removed, install the clamps of the cable bundle aft of the bracket assembly.
(c) Install the bend duct (42).
Detail D, E, F and G:
1 Put the bend duct (42) in position.
2 Install the bellows (53) and (55).
3 Install the clamps (54) and (52).
4 Make sure that the bellows are located between the red marks.
5 Install the clamp (50) and make sure that it is fully around the bracket (51).
(d) Install the fwd duct (41).
Detail B and C:
1 Put the duct (41) in position.
2 Install the bellows (44).
3 Install the clamps (43) and (45).
4 Make sure that the bellows are between the red marks.
(2) Install [4013HM] (Ref. AMM TASK 21-21-41-400-001).
(3) Install the partition panel-support struts (31) and (34):
(a) Clean the struts with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(b) Put the partition panel-support struts (31) and (34) in position.
(c) Install the nuts (33) and the bolts (32).
(4) Operate the air condition system and make sure there are no leaks at the installed ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 12-33-21-618-001).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) Install partitions 131NW and 132PW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-001).
(7) Close the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).
(8) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 38-11-41-862-053-A (1) Install the air conditioning ducts:
(a) Install the rear duct (40).

1 Put the duct (40) in position.

4 Make sure that the bellows are located between the red marks.

(b) Put the partition panel-support struts (31) and (34) in position.
(c) Install the nuts (33) and the bolts (32).
(4) Operate the air condition system and make sure there are no leaks at the installed ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 12-33-21-618-001).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) Install partitions 131NW and 132PW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-001).
(7) Close the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).
(8) Remove the access platform(s).
