Installation of the Cables
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the slats are fully extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable access panels.
(4) Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-004):

Subtask 36-22-16-420-059-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Examine the cable (13) and/or (18) for the correct condition.
(5) Remove the blanking caps from the cable (13) or (18) connectors and examine the connectors for the correct condition. Put the blanking caps on the connectors again.

B. Installation of the Cables
(2) Remove the blanking caps from the connectors (19) and (23).
(3) For the cable 24HF(40HF):
(a) Install the connector (23) in the flanged attachment (21)
(b) Install the nut (20) on the connector (23).
(c) TORQUE the nut (20) to between 0.68 and 0.56 m.daN (60.18 and 49.56 lbf.in )

(d) Install the connector (19) on the connector (23).
(e) TORQUE the connector (19) to between 0.68 and 0.56 m.daN (60.18 and 49.56 lbf.in )
.
(4) For the cable 51HF(67HF):
(a) Install the connector (24) in the connector (22).
(b) TORQUE the connector (24) to between 0.68 and 0.56 m.daN (60.18 and 49.56 lbf.in )
.
(5) Safety the connectors (19), (23) and (24) and the nut (20) with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(6) Cut the cable (13) or (18) to the correct length and connect it to the electrical cable with the in-line splice NSA936809RG0001 ESPM 2043120.
(7) Install the cable (13) or (18) in the applicable electrical raceway:
(a) FOR [24HF] (CABLE-CONNECTING, L WING LOOP A), [51HF] (CABLE-CONNECTING, L WING LOOP B)
in route 1S
(b) FOR [40HF] (CABLE-CONNECTING, R WING LOOP A), [67HF] (CABLE-CONNECTING, R WING LOOP B)
in route 2S.
(8) Install the clamps (33) on the cable (13) or (18) and install the bolts (35).
Subtask 36-22-16-865-063-A WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION:
REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES.
INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Install the cable (13) or (18). (2) Remove the blanking caps from the connectors (19) and (23).
(3) For the cable 24HF(40HF):
(a) Install the connector (23) in the flanged attachment (21)
(b) Install the nut (20) on the connector (23).
(c) TORQUE the nut (20) to between 0.68 and 0.56 m.daN (60.18 and 49.56 lbf.in )
. (d) Install the connector (19) on the connector (23).
(e) TORQUE the connector (19) to between 0.68 and 0.56 m.daN (60.18 and 49.56 lbf.in )
. (4) For the cable 51HF(67HF):
(a) Install the connector (24) in the connector (22).
(b) TORQUE the connector (24) to between 0.68 and 0.56 m.daN (60.18 and 49.56 lbf.in )
. (5) Safety the connectors (19), (23) and (24) and the nut (20) with
(6) Cut the cable (13) or (18) to the correct length and connect it to the electrical cable with the in-line splice NSA936809RG0001 ESPM 2043120.
(7) Install the cable (13) or (18) in the applicable electrical raceway:
