4. Procedure
Subtask 36-22-16-020-057-B
A. Removal of the Overheat Sensing Elements
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: REMOVE OR INSTALL THE SENSING ELEMENTS CAREFULLY. DO NOT TWIST, BEND OR CAUSE KINKS IN THE SENSING ELEMENTS. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
   (1) Release the quick-release fasteners (27) and open the clamps (25). Retain the protective sleeves (26).
   (2) Remove and discard the cable-ties (30) and the retainers (28).
   (3) Remove the support-plugs (29) from the RIB7 and the RIB8.
   (4) Remove the support-plugs (29) from the overheat sensing elements (11) and (12).
   (5) Remove the nut (35) and the bolt (33) from the fairlead (34). Retain the removable part of the fairlead (34) and the protective sleeves (26).
   (6) Remove and discard the lockwire from the connectors (19) and (22) and the nut (20).
   (7) Disconnect the connector (19) from the connector (22).
   (8) Remove the nut (20) from the connector (22). Remove the connector (22) from the flanged attachment (21).
   (9) Put CAP - BLANKING on all the disconnected connectors.
   (10) Remove the applicable overheat sensing element (9), (10), (11) or (12).
