Installation of the Pylon Overheat Sensing-Elements
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
YOU MUST NOT TOUCH HOT PARTS WITHOUT APPLICABLE GLOVES. HOT PARTS CAN CAUSE AN INJURY.
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON OR NEAR THE AIR-CONDITIONING DUCTS. THE DUCTS ARE MADE OF THIN MATERIAL AND YOU CAN EASILY BREAK THEM.

. (j) On the sensing element (25), lock the clamp (32).
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE QUARTER-TURN FASTENER ON THE FIRE DETECTOR CLAMP. ONLY USE A MANUAL SCREWDRIVER. ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS WILL CAUSE THE FASTENER TO TURN TOO MUCH AND POSSIBLY TO BREAK.
1 Make sure that the grommet (34) is in correct position on the clamp (32). 2 Close the clamp (32) and lock it with the quarter-turn fastener (33).
(k) Install the electrical connector (15) and the nut (16) on the bracket (9).
1 TORQUE the nut (16) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )
. (l) Bend the sensing element (18) to make an S shape and install it in the clamp (29) and connect the electrical connector (17) to the electrical connector (15).
1 Obey the permitted tolerances and the instructions related to the bending radius.
2 Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the electrical connector (15) and TORQUE the electrical connector (17) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )
. (m) Lock the clamp (29).
1 Make sure that the grommet (31) is in correct position on the clamp (29). 2 Close the clamp (29) and lock it with the quarter-turn fastener (30).
(n) Installation of the lockwires
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
