A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(4) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
(7) Make sure that you put on and attach a 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY before you start work in the work area (Ref. AMM TASK 12-00-00-481-002).
Subtask 36-22-15-865-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (OFF legend on).
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(4) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
- Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
(7) Make sure that you put on and attach a 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY before you start work in the work area (Ref. AMM TASK 12-00-00-481-002).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

D. Cleaning
(1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) Apply the Non Aqueous Cleaner-Sensing element - Xylene based - (Material No.08BGB1) with a GUN - SPRAY:
4. Procedure(1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) Apply the Non Aqueous Cleaner-Sensing element - Xylene based - (Material No.08BGB1) with a GUN - SPRAY:
- On the end fittings of the sensing elements, of the cable assemblies and of all other connectors
- Into the receptacles of the connectors, where necessary, to clean them.
NOTE: Do not use probes, swabs or any other instruments to examine the ends of the connectors when you clean them.
(3) Dry all parts of the sensing elements. WARNING:
DO NOT EXCEED 30PSIG (2,1KG/CM2) OF PRESSURE AT THE NOZZLE WHEN USING COMPRESSED AIR OR NITROGEN IN THIS CLEANING PROCESS. ALSO WEAR STURDY GOGGLES OR A FACE SHIELD. PARTICLES OR LIQUID DROPLETS PROPELLED BY HIGH PRESURE CAN CAUSE PERMANENT EYE INJURY.
(a) Dry all the components with a NITROGEN 1.7 TO 2 BAR (25 TO 30 PSI) at a pressure of not more than 2.1 bar (30.46 psi). Subtask 36-22-15-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Overheat Sensing Elements
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) FOR [1HF1] (SNSG ELEM-OVHT, ENG 1 PYLON), [1HF2] (SNSG ELEM-OVHT, ENG 2 PYLON)
(b) Install the electrical connector (24) and nut (23) on the bracket (11).
1 TORQUE the nut (23) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )

(c) Bend the sensing element (25) to make an S-shape and install them in the two clamps (26) and put the electrical connector (12) in the correct position.
1 Obey the permitted tolerances and the instructions related to the bending radius.
2 Make sure that the two grommets (28) are in correct position on the two clamps (26).
(d) Lock the two clamps (26).
(e) Installation of the lockwires
1 Safety the nut (23) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail C).
2 Safety the electrical connector (24) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail D).
(f) Install the bracket (11) on the structures (7) and (10).
(g) Install the electrical connector (21) and nut (20).
1 TORQUE the nut (20) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )

2 Safety the nut (20) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail E).
3 Safety the electrical connector (21) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail F).
(h) Connect the electrical connector (19) to the electrical connector (21).
1 TORQUE the electrical connector (19) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )

2 Safety the electrical connector (19) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail G).
(i) Connect the electrical connector (22) to the electrical connector (24).

(j) Connect the electrical connector (15) to the electrical connector (17).

(k) Install the electrical connector (14) and nut (13).

(l) Connect the electrical connector (12) to the electrical connector (14).
1 TORQUE the electrical connector (12) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )

2 Safety the electrical connector (12) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail M).
(m) Install the grommet (31) on the sensing element (25).
(n) Put the sensing element (25) and the grommet (31) in the clamp (29).
1 Make sure that the grommet (31) is in correct position on the clamp (29).
(o) Lock the clamp (29).
(3) FOR [101HF1] (SENSING ELEMENT-OVHT, L PYLON LOOP B), [101HF2] (SENSING ELEMENT-OVHT, R PYLON LOOP B)
(b) Install the electrical connector (17) and nut (16) on the bracket (11).
1 TORQUE the nut (16) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )

(c) Bend the sensing element (18) to make an S-shape and install them in the three clamps (26) and put the electrical connector (19) in the correct position.
1 Obey the permitted tolerances and the instructions related to the bending radius.
2 Make sure that the three grommets (28) are in correct position on the three clamps (26).
(d) Lock the three clamps (26).
(e) Installation of the lockwires
1 Safety the nut (16) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail A).
2 Safety the electrical connector (17)14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail B).
(f) Install the bracket (11) on the structures (7) and (10).
(g) Install the electrical connector (21) and nut (20).
1 TORQUE the nut (20) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )

2 Safety the nut (20) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail E).
3 Safety the electrical connector (21) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail F).
(h) Connect the electrical connector (19) to the electrical connector (21).
1 TORQUE the electrical connector (19) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )

2 Safety the electrical connector (19) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail G).
(i) Connect the electrical connector (22) to the electrical connector (24).

2 Safety the electrical connector (14) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail K).
3 Safety the nut (13) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail L).
(l) Connect the electrical connector (12) to the electrical connector (14).
1 TORQUE the electrical connector (12) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )

2 Safety the electrical connector (12) with the14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (detail M).
(4) Install the four washers (9) and bolts (8) on the structures (7) and (10).
(a) Tighten the four bolts (8).
(5) Install the bellows (4).
(a) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(b) Install a new AIPC 36-11-86-01-300 SEAL (2) on the bellows (4).
(c) Compress the bellows (4) with your hands and install it in the correct position on the precooler (1).
(e) Make sure that the positions of the clamps (3) and (5) agree with the positions you recorded at the removal.
(f) TORQUE the nut on the clamp (3) to between 1.41 and 1.30 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )

1 Identify the tightened nut of the clamp (3) with a red line (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(g) TORQUE the nut on the clamp (5) to between 0.78 and 0.56 m.daN (69.03 and 49.56 lbf.in )

WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Install the two grommets (28) on the sensing element (25). (b) Install the electrical connector (24) and nut (23) on the bracket (11).
1 TORQUE the nut (23) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )
. (c) Bend the sensing element (25) to make an S-shape and install them in the two clamps (26) and put the electrical connector (12) in the correct position.
1 Obey the permitted tolerances and the instructions related to the bending radius.
2 Make sure that the two grommets (28) are in correct position on the two clamps (26).
(d) Lock the two clamps (26).
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE QUARTER-TURN FASTENER ON THE FIRE DETECTOR CLAMP. ONLY USE A MANUAL SCREWDRIVER. ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS WILL CAUSE THE FASTENER TO TURN TOO MUCH AND POSSIBLY TO BREAK.
1 Close the two clamps (26) and lock them with the two quarter-turn fasteners (27). (e) Installation of the lockwires

DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE QUARTER-TURN FASTENER ON THE FIRE DETECTOR CLAMP. ONLY USE A MANUAL SCREWDRIVER. ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS WILL CAUSE THE FASTENER TO TURN TOO MUCH AND POSSIBLY TO BREAK.
1 Close the clamp (29) and lock them with the quarter-turn fastener (30). (3) FOR [101HF1] (SENSING ELEMENT-OVHT, L PYLON LOOP B), [101HF2] (SENSING ELEMENT-OVHT, R PYLON LOOP B)
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Install the three grommets (28) on the sensing element (18). (b) Install the electrical connector (17) and nut (16) on the bracket (11).
1 TORQUE the nut (16) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in )
. (c) Bend the sensing element (18) to make an S-shape and install them in the three clamps (26) and put the electrical connector (19) in the correct position.
1 Obey the permitted tolerances and the instructions related to the bending radius.
2 Make sure that the three grommets (28) are in correct position on the three clamps (26).
(d) Lock the three clamps (26).

(i) Connect the electrical connector (22) to the electrical connector (24).

(j) Connect the electrical connector (15) to the electrical connector (17).

(l) Connect the electrical connector (12) to the electrical connector (14).

(4) Install the four washers (9) and bolts (8) on the structures (7) and (10).
(a) Tighten the four bolts (8).
(5) Install the bellows (4).
(a) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(b) Install a new AIPC 36-11-86-01-300 SEAL (2) on the bellows (4).
(c) Compress the bellows (4) with your hands and install it in the correct position on the precooler (1).
NOTE: If necessary, use the tie-wraps to compress the bellows (4).
(d) Install the clamps (3) and (5) on the bellows (4). (e) Make sure that the positions of the clamps (3) and (5) agree with the positions you recorded at the removal.
(f) TORQUE the nut on the clamp (3) to between 1.41 and 1.30 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
. 1 Identify the tightened nut of the clamp (3) with a red line (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(g) TORQUE the nut on the clamp (5) to between 0.78 and 0.56 m.daN (69.03 and 49.56 lbf.in )
. 1 Identify the tightened nut of the clamp (5) with a red line (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Operational Test
(1) Do the operational test of the overheat detection system (Ref. AMM TASK 36-22-00-710-802).

D. Do this test:
(1) Pressurize the bleed system through the HP ground connector (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-860-803) or with the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-860-802).
(2) On panel 30VU, set the X-BLEED selector to OPEN.
(3) Do the leak check (Ref. AMM TASK 36-22-00-790-802).
(a) If you pressurize the bleed system through the HP ground connector, the supplied pressure 30 psi (2.07 bar) must be stable.
(b) Make sure that there are no leaks at the junctions downstream and upstream of the bleed duct (3).
(4) Install the thermal protection (6).
(a) Make sure that the sense lines of the bleed-air precooler exchanger are installed in the notch of the thermal protection (6).
5. Close-up(1) Pressurize the bleed system through the HP ground connector (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-860-803) or with the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-860-802).
(2) On panel 30VU, set the X-BLEED selector to OPEN.
(3) Do the leak check (Ref. AMM TASK 36-22-00-790-802).
(a) If you pressurize the bleed system through the HP ground connector, the supplied pressure 30 psi (2.07 bar) must be stable.
