Removal of the Pylon Overheat Sensing-Element
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes.
(2) On the ENG panel 115VU:
Subtask 36-22-15-941-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes.
(2) On the ENG panel 115VU:
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
- Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (OFF Legend on)
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off)
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position notice to tell persons not to energize FADEC system 1(2).
B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes.
(2) On ENG panel 115VU:

(2) On ENG panel 115VU:
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
- Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (OFF Legend on)
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off)
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position notice to tell persons not to energize FADEC system 1(2).

D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the pylon access.
(2) Remove the applicable access panels that follow:
(a) FOR [1HF1] (SNSG ELEM-OVHT, ENG 1 PYLON)
(b) FOR [1HF2] (SNSG ELEM-OVHT, ENG 2 PYLON)

(2) Remove the applicable access panels that follow:

D. Get Access

(2) Remove the applicable access panels that follow:

D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the pylon access.
(2) Remove the applicable access panels that follow:

(2) Remove the applicable access panels that follow:

- 413CL 413CR and 413DT (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-002)
- 471AR and 471AL (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002).
Subtask 36-22-15-110-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Cleaning of the Outer Side of the Connectors
(2) Remove all the collected oil, grease and dirt from the outer side of each connector. To do this, use a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SOFT with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) . Dry with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
Subtask 36-22-15-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED MATERIALS AND OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURERS. OTHER MATERIALS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION OF THE COMPONENTS AND THE RELATED AREA.
(1) Loosen the bolts (15) and open the clamps (14). (2) Remove all the collected oil, grease and dirt from the outer side of each connector. To do this, use a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SOFT with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) . Dry with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
B. Removal of the Pylon Overheat Sensing-Element
(a) Cut and remove the lockwire from the electrical connectors (4) and (8).
(b) Disconnect the electrical connectors (4) and (8).
(c) Remove the screws (2), (5), (9) and washers (1), (6) and (10).
(d) Remove the support (11) that holds the sensing element (12) from the bulkhead (13).
(e) Cut and remove the lockwire from the nuts (3) and (7).
(f) Remove the nuts (3) and (7).
(g) Remove the sensing element (12).
2 Remove the sensing element (12).
(h) Remove the grommets (16) from the sensing element (12).
(i) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) FOR [1HF2] (SNSG ELEM-OVHT, ENG 2 PYLON)
(a) Cut and remove the lockwire from the electrical connectors (4) and (8).
(b) Disconnect the electrical connectors (4) and (8).
(c) Remove the screws (2), (5), (9) and washers (1), (6) and (10).
(d) Remove the support (11) that holds the sensing element (17) from the bulkhead (13).
(e) Cut and remove the lockwire from the nuts (3) and (7).
(f) Remove the nuts (3) and (7).
(g) Remove the sensing element (17).
2 Remove the sensing element (17).
(h) Remove the grommets (16) from the sensing element (17).
(i) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) FOR [1HF1] (SNSG ELEM-OVHT, ENG 1 PYLON)(a) Cut and remove the lockwire from the electrical connectors (4) and (8).
(b) Disconnect the electrical connectors (4) and (8).
(c) Remove the screws (2), (5), (9) and washers (1), (6) and (10).
(d) Remove the support (11) that holds the sensing element (12) from the bulkhead (13).
(e) Cut and remove the lockwire from the nuts (3) and (7).
(f) Remove the nuts (3) and (7).
(g) Remove the sensing element (12).
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE QUARTER-TURN FASTENER ON THE FIRE DETECTOR CLAMP. ONLY USE A MANUAL SCREWDRIVER. ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS WILL CAUSE THE FASTENER TO TURN TOO MUCH AND POSSIBLY TO BREAK.
1 Turn the quarter-turn fasteners (15) by one quarter of a turn and open the clamps (14). 2 Remove the sensing element (12).
(h) Remove the grommets (16) from the sensing element (12).
(i) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) FOR [1HF2] (SNSG ELEM-OVHT, ENG 2 PYLON)
(a) Cut and remove the lockwire from the electrical connectors (4) and (8).
(b) Disconnect the electrical connectors (4) and (8).
(c) Remove the screws (2), (5), (9) and washers (1), (6) and (10).
(d) Remove the support (11) that holds the sensing element (17) from the bulkhead (13).
(e) Cut and remove the lockwire from the nuts (3) and (7).
(f) Remove the nuts (3) and (7).
(g) Remove the sensing element (17).
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE QUARTER-TURN FASTENER ON THE FIRE DETECTOR CLAMP. ONLY USE A MANUAL SCREWDRIVER. ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS WILL CAUSE THE FASTENER TO TURN TOO MUCH AND POSSIBLY TO BREAK.
