A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred for a minimum of 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
     (b) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
     (c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
   (3) In the cockpit, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position for a minimum of 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start engine 1(2).
   (4) In the cockpit, on FLAPS panel 114VU:
     (a) Put the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
     (b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
   (5) Open access door 191DB, on the HP ground connector:
  • Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
   (6) In the cockpit, on ENG section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

4. Procedure
Subtask 36-22-00-110-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Cleaning of the Outer Side of the Electrical Connectors
   (1) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Make sure that the parts removed after the deactivation procedure are clean and in correct condition.
   (3) Cut, remove and discard the tie-wraps.
   (4) Remove the electrical connectors from the adjacent structure or cables.
   (5) Cut, remove and discard the tie-wraps.
   (6) Remove the plastic bags or the shrinkable sleeves from the electrical connectors (1) and (2).
   (7) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from each electrical connector and the sensing-element connector ends.
   (8) Use a GUN - SPRAY to apply the Non Aqueous Cleaner-Sensing element - Xylene based - (Material No.08BGB1) to:
  • The end fittings of the sensing elements
  • The end fittings of the electrical connectors (1) and (2).
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you do not use probes, swabs or other instruments to examine the ends of the connectors when you clean them.

B. Reactivation of the Pylon Overheat Sensing-Element
   (1) FOR [1HF1] (SNSG ELEM-OVHT, ENG 1 PYLON), [1HF2] (SNSG ELEM-OVHT, ENG 2 PYLON)
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Install the electrical connectors (1) and (2) on the sensing element as follows:
       1 Connect the electrical connectors (1) and (2) to the sensing element.
       2 TORQUE the electrical connectors (1) and (2) to between 0.68 and 0.57 m.daN (60.18 and 50.44 lbf.in ) T.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       3 Safe tie the electrical connectors (1) and (2) with the 14QDC1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES -.
