A. Detailed Inspection of the APU Bleed Check-Valve
   (1) Remove the APU bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-51-000-001).
   (2) To make sure that the APU bleed check-valve is in the correct condition, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Make sure that the flaps, the hinge pin and/or the spring are not missing in the APU bleed check-valve:
1 If the parts are missing:
a Do a visual inspection of the APU bleed-air system and the air conditioning system to find and remove this (these) part (parts). Then replace the APU bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-51-400-001).
     (b) Make sure that there are no cracks, dents, corrosion or wear because of friction:
1 If the flaps and/or the stop on the APU bleed check-valve are worn:
  • Remove the marks with a fine-grade scotch-brite pad Abrasive-- Scotch Brite Pads - (Material No.14FAB1) .
     (c) Make sure that the flaps open and close freely.
     (d) Measure the play between each valve flap and the intake ring as follows:
1 Move the valve flap to the hinge pin to measure the maximum play.
2 With a GAGE - FEELER, measure the play between the full surface of the valve flap and the intake ring in the radial direction.
3 Make sure that the play between the full surface of the valve flap and the intake ring is not more than 0.030 in. (0.7620 mm).
   (3) If the APU bleed check-valve is in the correct condition, install the APU bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-51-400-001).
   (4) If the APU bleed check-valve is not in the correct condition, replace the APU bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-51-400-001).
