(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
Subtask 36-11-54-865-073-A (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

A. Manual Test of the Fan Air Valve and Rod Assembly
(1) Make sure that the rod (2) is attached to the fan air valve-body.
(2) Loosen and remove the screw (1) from the rod (2) of the fan air-valve actuator.
(3) Make sure that the valve butterfly moves freely.
(5) TORQUE the screw (1) to between 0.38 and 0.312 m.daN (33.63 and 27.61 lbf.in )

Subtask 36-11-54-480-056-A (1) Make sure that the rod (2) is attached to the fan air valve-body.
(2) Loosen and remove the screw (1) from the rod (2) of the fan air-valve actuator.
(3) Make sure that the valve butterfly moves freely.
- With your hand, push the rod (2) to fully open the fan air-valve body.
- Then pull the rod (2) to fully close the fan air-valve body.
(5) TORQUE the screw (1) to between 0.38 and 0.312 m.daN (33.63 and 27.61 lbf.in )
. B. Preparation for the Functional Test
(2) Put the blanking plug on the disconnected end of the sense line.
(3) Connect the adaptor assembly to the sense-line test port on the FAV.
(4) Tighten the adaptor assembly.
(5) Connect the short hose to the adaptor assembly.
(6) Close the shutoff valve, the purge valve and the pressure regulator valve on the 98D36109001000 TEST SET-EBAS,BLEED.
(8) Set the digital pressure gage back to zero.
Subtask 36-11-54-720-059-A CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CONNECT/DISCONNECT THE TEST SET TO/FROM THE EQUIPMENT.
THE PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE AND THE PRESSURE GAGE ASSEMBLY OF THE TEST SET ARE HEAVY AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Disconnect the sense line of the FAV. (2) Put the blanking plug on the disconnected end of the sense line.
(3) Connect the adaptor assembly to the sense-line test port on the FAV.
(4) Tighten the adaptor assembly.
(5) Connect the short hose to the adaptor assembly.
(6) Close the shutoff valve, the purge valve and the pressure regulator valve on the 98D36109001000 TEST SET-EBAS,BLEED.
NOTE: If the air cylinder has a regulator valve, it is not necessary to install the primary regulator valve supplied with the test set.
(7) Connect the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the 98D36109001000 TEST SET-EBAS,BLEED. (8) Set the digital pressure gage back to zero.

D. Disconnection of the Test Set
(2) Disconnect the short hose from the adaptor assembly.
(3) Remove the adaptor assembly from the sense line port of the FAV.
(4) Remove the blanking plug from the sense line.
(5) Install the sense line in the sense line port of the FAV.
(6) TORQUE the nut of the sense line to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )

5. Close-upCAUTION:
