- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Procedure to Disconnect the Sense Line
(1) Disconnect the sense line between Fan Air Valve (FAV) 9HA1 (9HA2) and the FAV-Temperature Control-Thermostat (TCT) (7170HM) from the union of the TCT (7170HM).
(2) Install a PLUG - BLANKING on the sense line union of the FAV-TCT (7170HM).
(3) If you connect a 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED through the test port as an alternative procedure:
(a) Sense line FAV-TCT must be disconnected.
(b) It is necessary to install the PLUG - BLANKING in the disconnected ends of the sense line FAV-TCT and in the union of the FAV-TCT.
Subtask 36-11-54-480-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the sense line between Fan Air Valve (FAV) 9HA1 (9HA2) and the FAV-Temperature Control-Thermostat (TCT) (7170HM) from the union of the TCT (7170HM).
(2) Install a PLUG - BLANKING on the sense line union of the FAV-TCT (7170HM).
(3) If you connect a 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED through the test port as an alternative procedure:
(a) Sense line FAV-TCT must be disconnected.
(b) It is necessary to install the PLUG - BLANKING in the disconnected ends of the sense line FAV-TCT and in the union of the FAV-TCT.
B. Procedure to Connect the Test Set
(1) Close the shutoff valve, the purge valve and the pressure regulator valve of the test set.
1 Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED with the short-bend flexible assembly to the disconnected end of the FAV-TCT (7170HM) sense line.
(b) Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED to the test port as follows:
2 Remove the blanking plug of the test port.
3 Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED to the test port of FAV.
4 Install the PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected end of the sense line FAV-TCT.
(4) Do a reset of the digital pressure gage.
(5) Make sure that the regulator valve of the test set is closed before you pressurize the system.
Subtask 36-11-54-720-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Close the shutoff valve, the purge valve and the pressure regulator valve of the test set.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PRESSURE SUPPLIED TO BLEED TEST SET 98L36103002000 NEVER EXCEEDS 217 PSI (15 BAR). IF THE PRESSURE SUPPLIED TO THE BLEED TEST SET EXCEEDS THIS VALUE, THERE IS A RISK OF INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
IF THE AIR CYLINDER DOES NOT HAVE A MANOMETER INSTALLED, YOU MUST INSTALL THE PRIMARY REGULATOR VALVE BETWEEN THE AIR BOTTLE AND BLEED TEST SET 98L36103002000. THE PRIMARY REGULATOR VALVE WILL LIMIT THE PRESSURE IN THE BLEED TEST SET TO 217 PSI (15 BAR).
(2) Connect an air cylinder to a 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED. CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CONNECT/DISCONNECT THE TEST SET TO/FROM THE EQUIPMENT.
THE PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE AND THE PRESSURE GAGE ASSEMBLY OF THE TEST SET ARE HEAVY AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(3) Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED as follows: NOTE: If you cannot easily connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED to the disconnected end of the FAV-TCT sense line, you can connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED to the test port of FAV 9HA1 (9HA2).
(a) Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED to the disconnected end of the FAV-TCT (7170HM) sense line as follows: 1 Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED with the short-bend flexible assembly to the disconnected end of the FAV-TCT (7170HM) sense line.
(b) Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED to the test port as follows:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1 Cut, remove and discard the lockwire of the test port.2 Remove the blanking plug of the test port.
3 Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED to the test port of FAV.
4 Install the PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected end of the sense line FAV-TCT.
(4) Do a reset of the digital pressure gage.
(5) Make sure that the regulator valve of the test set is closed before you pressurize the system.

D. Procedure to Disconnect the Test Set
(1) Close the shutoff valve of the air cylinder.
(2) Slowly open the purge valve to depressurize the test set.
(3) Disconnect the test set as follows:
1 Disconnect the short-bend flexible assembly from the disconnected end of the sense line FAV-TCT (7170HM) and from the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(b) Disconnect the test set from the test port as follows:
1 Remove the blanking plug from the disconnected end of the sense line FAV-TCT (7170HM).
2 Disconnect the test port from the FAV test port.
4 TORQUE the blanking plug:
a For P/N 6730A and 6730B to between 5.50 and 4.50 m.daN (40.56 and 33.19 lbf.ft )

(2) Slowly open the purge valve to depressurize the test set.
(3) Disconnect the test set as follows:
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU START TO REMOVE THE TOOLING, MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PRESSURIZED GAS LEFT INSIDE THE DUCTS. IT CAN CAUSE AN INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CONNECT/DISCONNECT THE TEST SET TO/FROM THE EQUIPMENT.
THE PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE AND THE PRESSURE GAGE ASSEMBLY OF THE TEST SET ARE HEAVY AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) 1 Disconnect the short-bend flexible assembly from the disconnected end of the sense line FAV-TCT (7170HM) and from the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(b) Disconnect the test set from the test port as follows:
1 Remove the blanking plug from the disconnected end of the sense line FAV-TCT (7170HM).
2 Disconnect the test port from the FAV test port.

(1) Connect the sense line between the FAV 9HA1 (9HA2) and the FAV-TCT (7170HM).
(2) TORQUE the nut to between 1.76 and 1.44 m.daN (12.98 and 10.62 lbf.ft )
