A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that engine 1(2) is shutdown for a minimum of 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(5) On access door 191DB, on the HP ground connector:
(7) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
(a) Put the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
(8) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
(9) Put on and attach a 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY before you start work in the work area (Ref. AMM TASK 12-00-00-481-002).
Subtask 36-11-54-020-069-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that engine 1(2) is shutdown for a minimum of 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton-switch is released (OFF legend on).
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton-switch is released (ON legend off).
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(5) On access door 191DB, on the HP ground connector:
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
(7) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
(a) Put the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
(8) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
(9) Put on and attach a 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY before you start work in the work area (Ref. AMM TASK 12-00-00-481-002).
B. Prepare for the Installation
(1) Make sure that the forward thrust-reverser-hinge access-panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-06-000-801):

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 36-11-54-865-082-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). E. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

Subtask 36-11-54-420-068-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the FAV Scoop
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
(4) Make sure that the bleed-air precooler-exchanger inlet is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-44-000-802).
(5) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(6) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(7) Make sure that the seal (12) of the scoop (9) is in the correct condition.
(8) Install a new AIPC 36-11-86-03-350 SEAL (23) in the FAV (1).
(9) Install the clamp (24) on the scoop (9) and the FAV (1). Do not tighten the clamp (24) at this time.
(10) Install the scoop (9) and the FAV (1) at the same time on the structure (7) through the precooler fairing.
Subtask 36-11-54-010-093-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Make sure that the precooler exchanger is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-42-000-802). (4) Make sure that the bleed-air precooler-exchanger inlet is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-44-000-802).
(5) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(6) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(7) Make sure that the seal (12) of the scoop (9) is in the correct condition.
(8) Install a new AIPC 36-11-86-03-350 SEAL (23) in the FAV (1).
(9) Install the clamp (24) on the scoop (9) and the FAV (1). Do not tighten the clamp (24) at this time.
(10) Install the scoop (9) and the FAV (1) at the same time on the structure (7) through the precooler fairing.
B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

D. Installation of the FAV Scoop
(1) Carefully engage the pins (22) of the FAV (1) with the pin holes (21).
(3) Tighten the bolts (11).
(4) Make sure that clearance 'A1' between the scoop (9) and the structure (7) is a minimum of 3 mm (0.1181 in.).
(5) Put the scoop rod (8) in position on the bracket (4).
(a) Install the 98D36003004000 BLOCKING DEVICE FAV (25) to lock the FAV (1) in the closed position.
(8) Put the plate (19) in position on the FAV (1) and install the bolt (18).
(9) Tighten the bolt (18) with your hand but do not torque at this time.
(10) Remove the 98D36003004000 BLOCKING DEVICE FAV (25) from the FAV (1).
(11) TORQUE the clamp (24) to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
:
(a) Identify the tightened union nut of the clamp (24) with a red line (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(12) Install the washer (14), bonding strap (15), nut (16) and the bolt (13) on the FAV (1).
(13) Tighten the bolt (13) and do the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(14) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) on the bonding strap (15), nut (16), washer (14) and the bolt (13).
Subtask 36-11-54-410-084-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Carefully engage the pins (22) of the FAV (1) with the pin holes (21).
NOTE: The pins (22) hold the FAV (1) in position in the pin holes (21).
(2) Install the washers (10) and the bolts (11) on the scoop (9) and the structure (7). (3) Tighten the bolts (11).
(4) Make sure that clearance 'A1' between the scoop (9) and the structure (7) is a minimum of 3 mm (0.1181 in.).
(5) Put the scoop rod (8) in position on the bracket (4).
NOTE: You can get access below the left side of the thrust reverser to put the scoop rod (8) in position on the bracket (4) more easily.
(6) Install the bushing (5), washers (3), nut (2) and the bolt (6) on the bracket (4) and tighten the bolt (6). NOTE: You can get access below the left side of the thrust reverser to install the bushing (5), washers (3), nut (2) and the bolt (6) on the bracket (4) more easily.
(7) Put the FAV actuator rod (20) in position: (a) Install the 98D36003004000 BLOCKING DEVICE FAV (25) to lock the FAV (1) in the closed position.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(b) If necessary, adjust the length of the FAV actuator rod (20): - Remove the lockwire from the nut of the FAV actuator rod (20).
- Loosen the nut of the FAV actuator rod (20).
- As necessary, tighten or loosen the FAV actuator rod (20) to adjust the length.
- Tighten the nut of the FAV actuator rod (20).
- Install the

(8) Put the plate (19) in position on the FAV (1) and install the bolt (18).
(9) Tighten the bolt (18) with your hand but do not torque at this time.
(10) Remove the 98D36003004000 BLOCKING DEVICE FAV (25) from the FAV (1).
(11) TORQUE the clamp (24) to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )

(12) Install the washer (14), bonding strap (15), nut (16) and the bolt (13) on the FAV (1).
(13) Tighten the bolt (13) and do the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(14) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) on the bonding strap (15), nut (16), washer (14) and the bolt (13).
E. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the thrust reverser doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
