A. Installation of the Tool
   (1) Connect the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET as shown in the figure.
   (2) Use a small axle to operate the test port inlet-clapper for several cycles to remove the clapper.
NOTE: You can use all the applicable axles when:
  • It is not necessary to apply force to put them into the test port, as the diameter of the test port is lower than 5 MM (0.197 IN.) (to prevent damage to the port) and
  • There is no sharp edge (to prevent damage to the clapper).
   (3) Use the test set kit on the wing 99127-231 TEST SET BLEED - KIT to perform this test.
   (4) Set the pressure gage (5) to the ON position. The pressure value given on the LCD screen must be:
  • Equal to 0 psi (0 bar)
  • If not, push the ON button for 10 seconds.
   (5) Connect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) between the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET and an external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL:
  • Start the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (6) Cut and discard the lockwire.
   (7) Remove the blanking plug from the test port of the overpressure valve.
   (8) Install the test port adaptor (T25) on the test port of the overpressure valve.
   (9) Open the pressure-source shutoff valve to slowly pressurize the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET to 100 psig (6.89 bar rel.).

B. Functional Test of the Overpressure Valve
NOTE: The pressure value given in this test is applicable only to P/N 6740B05XXXX. Because the valves are interchangeable, it is necessary to do a check of the valve reference before the test. If the P/N reference is different from P/N 6740B05XXXX, refer to Para. C, D, E, F or G.
   (1) Do this test:
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the test set:
  • Set the Blue valve (7) to the ON position.

2.When you do the functional test for first time, apply a higher pressure than 110 psi (7.58 bar) to remove the clapper.

3.On the test set:
  • With the pressure gauge A (3), increase the pressure to 79.18 psig (5.46 bar rel.).
On the test set:
  • The pressure is given on the LCD (5).

On the overpressure valve:
  • The visual position indicator shows that the valve is open.
4.On the overpressure valve:
  • do a check of the electrical continuity between pin 1 and pin 2 of the electrical connector with an OHMMETER MULTIRANGE.
On the OHMMETER MULTIRANGE:
  • There is electrical continuity between pin 1 and pin 2 of the electrical connector.
NOTE: Electrical continuity between pin 1 and pin 2 of the electrical connector shows that the overpressure valve position agrees with the microswitch position (OPEN).

On the OHMMETER MULTIRANGE:
  • There is electrical continuity between pin 2 and pin 3 of the electrical connector.
NOTE: Electrical continuity between pin 2 and pin 3 of the electrical connector shows that the overpressure valve position agrees with the microswitch position (CLOSED).
7.On the test set:
  • With the pressure gauge A (3), decrease the pressure to 60.1 psig (4.14 bar rel.).
On the test set:
  • The pressure is given on the LCD (5).

On the overpressure valve:
  • The visual position indicator shows that the valve is closed.
8.On the test set:
  • With the pressure gauge A (3), decrease the pressure to 50 psig (3.45 bar rel.).
On the test set:
  • The pressure is given on the LCD (5).

2.When you do the functional test for the first time, apply a pressure of more than 110 psi (7.58 bar) to take off the clapper.

3.On the test set:
  • With pressure gauge A (3), increase the pressure of the system to 79.18 psig (5.46 bar rel.).
NOTE: The electrical continuity between pin 1 and pin 2 of the electrical connector shows that the overpressure valve position agrees with the microswitch position (OPEN).
5.On the test set:
  • With pressure gauge A (3), gradually increase the pressure of the system to 95 psig (6.55 bar rel.).
On the test set:
  • The pressure is given on the LCD (5).
On the overpressure valve:
  • The visual position indicator shows that the valve is fully closed when the pressure is between 80 psig (5.52 bar rel.) and 89.2 psig (6.15 bar rel.).
6.On the overpressure valve:
  • Do a check of the electrical continuity between pin 2 and pin 3 of the electrical connector with an OHMMETER MULTIRANGE.
On the OHMMETER MULTIRANGE:
  • There is electrical continuity between pin 2 and pin 3 of the electrical connector.
NOTE: The electrical continuity between pin 2 and pin 3 of the electrical connector shows that the overpressure valve position agrees with the microswitch position (CLOSED).
7.On the test set:
  • With the pressure gauge A (3), gradually decrease the pressure of the system.
On the test set:
  • The pressure is given on the LCD (5).
On the overpressure valve:
  • The visual position indicator shows that the valve is fully open when the pressure is between 50 psig (3.45 bar rel.) and 70 psig (4.83 bar rel.).
8.On the test set:
  • With the pressure gauge A (3), decrease the pressure to 0 psig (0.00 bar rel.).
