A. Mechanical Test of the Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve (PRV)
   (1) On the valve position indicator, record the position of the valve butterfly.
   (2) Make sure that the valve butterfly moves freely.
  • On the position indicator, use a WRENCH - STANDARD to fully open and fully close the valve butterfly.
  • Put the valve butterfly in the initial position that you recorded.

B. Preparation for the Functional Test
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CONNECT/DISCONNECT THE TEST SET TO/FROM THE EQUIPMENT. THE PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE AND THE PRESSURE GAGE ASSEMBLY OF THE TEST SET ARE HEAVY AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Remove the blanking plug from the test port of the bleed PRV.
   (2) Connect manually the adaptor assembly to the test port of the bleed PRV.
   (3) Connect manually the 98D36109001000 TEST SET-EBAS,BLEED with the short hose to the adaptor assembly.
   (4) Close the shutoff valve, the purge valve and the pressure regulator valve on the 98D36109001000 TEST SET-EBAS,BLEED.
NOTE: If the air cylinder has a regulator valve, it is not necessary to install the primary regulator valve supplied with the test set.
   (5) Connect the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the 98D36109001000 TEST SET-EBAS,BLEED.
   (6) Set the digital pressure gage back to zero.
Subtask 36-11-52-720-134-A
C. Functional Test of the Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve
   (1) Do this test:
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY, open the shutoff valve.
On the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY, the cylinder pressure gage shows the pressure.
2.On the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY, use the primary regulator to pressurize the pressure source to 43.5 psi (3.00 bar).
On the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY, the primary gage shows 43.5 psi (3.00 bar).
3.On the 98D36109001000 TEST SET-EBAS,BLEED:
  • Slowly pressurize the system to get a pressure value between 30 psi (2.07 bar) and 40 psi (2.76 bar).

4.In the cockpit:
On the bleed PRV:
The position indicator shows OPEN.
5.In the cockpit:
  • Complete the BITE test.
NOTE: The pressure must be applied during all the test.
NOTE: When the BITE test is completed, the valve closes.
On the bleed PRV:
The position indicator shows CLOSED.
6.On the 98D36109001000 TEST SET-EBAS,BLEED:
  • Decrease the pressure of the system to 0 psi (0 bar).
On the PRV:
  • The position indicator shows CLOSED.
7.Depressurize the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY
NOTE: The valve can stay open until the next engine start and will close automatically at the next engine start.
