B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
   (3) On the ENG panel 115VU:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
   (4) On the HP ground connector:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
   (5) On the ENG section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).

   (1) Open the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (a) Remove the access panel 191MB.
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position below the engine.
4. Procedure
Subtask 36-11-52-480-094-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Tool (for Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve with Deactivation Screw No.1 on Butterfly Valve and without Coupling Tube on Actuator)
NOTE: Use the 99127-231 TEST SET BLEED - KIT to do this test.
   (1) Removal of the lockwire
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the deactivation screw No.2.
     (b) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the blanking cap of the test port of the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (2) Remove the deactivation screw No.2 and the blanking cap of the test port of the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (3) Connect the test port adaptor (T25) to the test port of the bleed-pressure regulator valve as shown in the figure.
   (4) Connect the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to the test port adaptor (T25).
   (5) Connect the adaptor (T15) to the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (6) Apply force when you tighten the adaptor (T15) with your hand.
   (7) Connect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) between the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and an external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL:
  • Start the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (8) Push the ON/OFF button of the LCD screen (5). The pressure value shown is 0 psi (0 bar). If not, push it again for 10 seconds.
   (9) Open the pressure source shut-off valve and slowly pressurize the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET to 100 psi (6.89 bar).
   (10) Do the test given in the paragraph 4.D.
Subtask 36-11-52-480-095-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the Tool (for Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve with Deactivation Screw on Butterfly Valve and with Coupling Tube on Actuator)
NOTE: Use the 99127-231 TEST SET BLEED - KIT to do this test.
   (1) Removal of the lockwire
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the blanking cap of the test port of the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (2) Remove the blanking cap from the test port.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES ON UNIONS.
   (3) Disconnection of the sense line
NOTE: Loosen the pneumatic union a quarter turn with a spanner. Then shake the sense line with your hand to prevent cross thread damage to the pneumatic union.
To prevent damage to the fitting end of the sense line, turn the union with your hand and not with a spanner.
     (a) Disconnect the sense line from the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
     (b) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (4) Connect one adaptor (T25) to the test port of the bleed-pressure regulator valve as shown in the figure.
   (5) Connect a second adaptor (T25) to the coupling tube of the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (6) TORQUE the two test port adaptors (T25) to between 1.2 and 1 m.daN (106.19 and 88.50 lbf.in ) T.
   (7) Connect the
99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to the two test port adaptors (T25).
   (8) Connect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) between the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and an external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL:
  • Start the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (9) Push the ON/OFF button of the LCD screen (5). The pressure value shown is 0 psi (0 bar). If not, push it again for 10 seconds.
   (10) Open the pressure source shut-off valve and slowly pressurize the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET to 100 psi (6.89 bar).
   (11) Do the test given in the paragraph 4.E.

C. Installation of the Tool (for Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve with Deactivation Screw No.1 on Regulator)
NOTE: Use the 99127-231 TEST SET BLEED - KIT to do this test.
   (1) Removal of the lockwire
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the deactivation screw No.1.
     (b) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the blanking cap of the test port of the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (2) Remove the deactivation screw No.1 and the blanking cap of the test port of the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
NOTE: Use a WRENCH 5/16 IN (8MM) - SPANNER if necessary.
NOTE: If the deactivation screw has a preformed packing:
  • Make sure that the preformed packing is installed on the deactivation screw and does not stay on the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (3) Connect the test port adaptor (T14) or (T25) to the test port of the bleed-pressure regulator valve as shown in the figure.
   (4) First try to install the adaptor (T14). If you cannot install it, install the other adaptor (T25).
   (5) Connect the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to the test port adaptor (T14) or (T25).
   (6) Connection of the adaptor (T15) or (T19)
CAUTION: FIRST TRY TO INSTALL THE ADAPTOR WITH THE SHORTEST THREADED AREA (T15). IF YOU CANNOT INSTALL IT, INSTALL THE OTHER ADAPTOR (T19). MAKE SURE THAT THE ADAPTOR (T15 OR T19) IS CORRECTLY TIGHTENED.
     (a) Connect the adaptor (T15) or (T19) to the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
     (b) Apply force when you tighten the adaptor (T15) or (T19) with your hand.
   (7) Connect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) between the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and an external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL:
  • Start the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (8) Push the ON/OFF button of the LCD screen (5). The pressure value shown is 0 psi (0 bar). If not, push it again for 10 seconds.
   (9) Open the pressure source shut-off valve and slowly pressurize the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET to 100 psi (6.89 bar).
   (10) Do the test given in the paragraph 4.F.

D. Pressure Regulation Test of the Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve (for Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve with Deactivation Screw No.1 on Butterfly Valve and without Coupling Tube on Actuator)
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the test set:
  • Set the blue valve (7) to ON.

2.On the test set:
  • With the pressure gauge A (3), increase the pressure to between 86 and 88 psi (5.9 and 6.1 bar).
On the test set:
  • The pressure value shows on the LCD (4).

On the test set:
  • The regulated pressure value shows on the LCD (5).
3.On the test set:
  • Make sure that the regulated pressure value shown on the LCD (5) is between 42 and 52 psi (2.9 and 3.6 bar).

   (1) If the regulated pressure value shown on the LCD (5) is less than 42 psi (2.9 bar), do the steps that follow:
     (a) Make sure that there is no leak in the deactivation screw No.2.
     (b) Make sure that the adaptors (T15), (T29), (T25) and (T06) are correctly tightened.
     (c) Do the functional test of the sense line between the pressure regulator valve and the pressure-regulator valve control-solenoid (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-00-720-010). Use the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET.
If there is no leak, go to step 4.D.(1)(d).
     (d) Do the non-return valve functional test of the bleed-pressure regulator valve with the bleed test set P/N 99127B03 (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-52-720-013).
Subtask 36-11-52-720-093-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
E. Pressure Regulation Test of the Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve (for Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve with Deactivation Screw on Butterfly Valve and with Coupling Tube on Actuator)
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the test set:
  • Set the blue valve (7) to ON.

2.On the test set:
  • With the pressure gauge A (3), increase the pressure to between 86 and 88 psi (5.9 and 6.1 bar).
On the test set:
  • The pressure value shows on the LCD (4).

On the test set:
  • The regulated pressure value shows on the LCD (5).
3.On the test set:
  • Wait 20 seconds, while the pressure increases in the hose (T05) that is connected to the LCD (5).
  • Make sure that the regulated pressure value shown on the LCD (5) is between 42 and 52 psi (2.9 and 3.6 bar).

   (1) If the regulated pressure value shown on the LCD (5) is less than 42 psi (2.9 bar), do the steps that follow:
     (a) If the pressure value shown on the LCD (5) increases very slowly, make sure that the adaptor (T25), connected to the coupling tube, is correctly tightened.
NOTE: Any leakage from the adaptor (T25) can cause a low regulated pressure from the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
     (b) Do the functional test of the sense line between the pressure regulator valve and the pressure-regulator valve control-solenoid (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-00-720-010). Use the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET.

F. Pressure Regulation Test of the Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve (for Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve with Deactivation Screw No.1 on Regulator)
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the test set:
  • Set the blue valve (7) to ON.

2.On the test set:
  • With the pressure gauge A (3), increase the pressure to between 86 and 88 psi (5.9 and 6.1 bar).
On the test set:
  • The pressure value shows on the LCD (4).

On the test set:
  • The regulated pressure value shows on the LCD (5).
3.On the test set:
  • Make sure that the regulated pressure value shown on the LCD (5) is between 42 and 52 psi (2.9 and 3.6 bar).

   (1) If the regulated pressure value shown on the LCD (5) is less than 42 psi (2.9 bar), do the steps that follow:
     (a) Make sure that the deactivation screw No.2 is correctly tightened.
     (b) Make sure that the adaptors (T15) or (T19), (T14) or (T25), (T06) and (T29) are correctly tightened.
     (c) Do the functional test of the sense line between the pressure regulator valve and the pressure-regulator valve control-solenoid (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-00-720-010). Use the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET.
If there is no leak, go to step 4.F.(1)(d).
     (d) Do the non-return valve functional test of the bleed-pressure regulator valve with the bleed test set P/N 99127B03 (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-52-720-013).
   (2) If the regulated pressure value shown on the LCD (5) is higher than 52 psi (3.6 bar), replace the bleed-pressure regulator valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-52-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-52-400-010).
Subtask 36-11-52-080-094-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
G. Removal of the Tool (for Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve with Deactivation Screw No.1 on Butterfly Valve and without Coupling Tube on Actuator)
   (1) With the pressure gauge A (3), decrease the pressure to 0 psi (0 bar).
   (2) Stop the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (3) Disconnect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) from the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and the external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (4) Disconnect the hoses from the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01), from the adaptor (T15) and from the test port adaptor (T25).
   (5) Disconnect and remove the adaptor (T15) and the test port adaptor (T25) from the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (6) Installation of the deactivation screw No.2
CAUTION: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE DEACTIVATION SCREW ON THE VALVE, TIGHTEN THE SCREW WITH YOUR HAND BEFORE YOU TORQUE IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SCREW AND THE VALVE.
     (a) Install the deactivation screw No.2 on the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
     (b) TORQUE the deactivation screw No.2 to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in ) T.
   (7) Install the blanking cap on the test port of the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (8) TORQUE the blanking cap to between 1.2 and 1 m.daN (106.19 and 88.50 lbf.in )

   (9) Safetying with lockwire
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Safety the deactivation screw and the blanking cap with lockwire 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
Subtask 36-11-52-080-095-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
H. Removal of the Tool (for Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve with Deactivation Screw on Butterfly Valve and with Coupling Tube on Actuator)
   (1) With the pressure gauge A (3), decrease the pressure to 0 psi (0 bar).
   (2) Stop the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (3) Disconnect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) from the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and the external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (4) Disconnect the hoses from the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and from the two adaptors (T25).
   (5) Disconnect and remove the two adaptors (T25) from the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (6) Connection of the sense line
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES ON UNIONS.
     (a) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
     (b) Make sure that there is no grease or oil on the pneumatic and sense line unions.
     (c) Connect the sense line to the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
NOTE: To prevent damage to the fitting end of the sense line, turn the union with your hand and not with a spanner.
     (d) Do the double torque method on the union of the sense line to between 1.69 and 1.52 m.daN (12.46 and 11.21 lbf.ft ) T.
NOTE: Double torque method: Torque a first time the union of the sense line to the given value. Loosen the union of the sense line a quarter of a turn. Then torque a second time the union to the given value.
     (e) Paint a mark on the union of the sense line.
   (7) Install the blanking cap on the test port of the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (8) TORQUE the blanking cap to between 1.2 and 1 m.daN (106.19 and 88.50 lbf.in )

I. Removal of the Tool (for Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve with Deactivation Screw No.1 on Regulator)
   (1) With the pressure gauge A (3), decrease the pressure to 0 psi (0 bar).
   (2) Stop the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (3) Disconnect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) from the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and the external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (4) Disconnect the hoses from the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01), from the adaptor (T15) or (T19) and from the test port adaptor (T14) or (T25).
   (5) Disconnect and remove the adaptor (T15) or (T19) and the test port adaptor (T14) or (T25) from the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
CAUTION: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE DEACTIVATION SCREW ON THE VALVE, TIGHTEN THE SCREW WITH YOUR HAND BEFORE YOU TORQUE IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SCREW AND THE VALVE.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE DEACTIVATION SCREW, MAKE SURE THAT THE PREFORMED PACKING IS INSTALLED ON THE DEACTIVATION SCREW.
   (6) Installation of the deactivation screw No.1
NOTE: If the adaptor (T19) is installed, the deactivation screw has a preformed packing.
     (a) Install the deactivation screw No.1 on the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
     (b) TORQUE the deactivation screw No.1 to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in ) T.
   (7) Install the blanking cap on the test port of the bleed-pressure regulator valve.
   (8) TORQUE the blanking cap to between 1.2 and 1 m.daN (106.19 and 88.50 lbf.in )

   (9) Safetying with lockwire
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Safety the deactivation screw and the blanking cap with lockwire 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
