BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton-switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
(b) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton-switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(c) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
(3) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch is in the OFF position for a minimum of five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton-switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
(5) On access door 191DB, on the HP ground connector:
(a) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
Subtask 36-11-52-865-089-A (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton-switch is released (the OFF legend is on).

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Nacelle Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). Subtask 36-11-52-420-073-A
A. Installation of the PRV
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
(4) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(6) Make sure that you disconnected the muscle sense tube (1) from the Environmental Control System (ECS) Y-duct (10) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-831).
(7) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(8) Remove the blanking plugs from the PRV (11).
(9) Do a visual inspection of the PRV (11) as follows:
(a) Make sure that there is no FOD contamination in the PRV (11).
(b) Make sure that there are no cracks, corrosion or other damage.
(10) Move the ECS Y-duct (10) and ECS pylon duct (4) a small distance as necessary to get sufficient clearance.
(11) Put the PRV (11) in position as follows:
(b) Make sure that the flow direction arrow on the valve points in the correct direction.
(12) Install the two V-band couplings (6) and (8). Do not torque the V-band couplings (6) and (8) at this time:
(a) Make sure that the positions of the V-band couplings (6) and (8) agree with the positions that you recorded during the removal.
(13) Connect the PRV muscle sense-tube (3) to the PRV (11) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831) and not to torque the PRV muscle sense-tube-fittings at this time.
(14) Adjustment
(15) Torque the V-band couplings (6) and (8) that attach the PRV (11) as follows:
(a) TORQUE the V-band couplings (6) and (8) to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
.
(b) Tap around the outer surfaces of the V-band couplings (6) and (8) with a HAMMER - FIBER.
(c) TORQUE the V-band couplings (6) and (8) a second time to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
.
(d) Tap around the outer surfaces of the V-band couplings (6) and (8) again with the HAMMER - FIBER.
(e) TORQUE the V-band couplings (6) and (8) a third time to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
.
(f) Tap around the outer surfaces of the V-band couplings (6) and (8) again with the HAMMER - FIBER.
(g) TORQUE the V-band couplings (6) and (8) to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
.
(h) Make sure that the two full threads are shown on the V-band couplings (6) and (8).
(i) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(16) Tighten the fitting on the PRV muscle sense-tube (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831).
(17) Connect the ECS electrical harness as follows:
(b) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Connect the ECS harness-assembly connector (2) to the PRV (11).
(d) Tighten the connector with your hand and then turn the connector a quarter more with a PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
(18) Install the fitting on the muscle sense tube (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831).
(19) Install the indicating tube (12) on the ECS Y-Duct (10) and the High Pressure Valve (HPV) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831).
(20) Make sure that the muscle sense tube (1) and the PRV muscle sense-tube (3) are not damaged and that they are correctly installed (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831).
(21) Make sure that the PRV (11), the ECS Y-duct (10) and the ECS pylon duct (4) are correctly aligned.
(22) Make sure that the V-band couplings (6) and (8) are correctly installed, engaged and aligned on the PRV (11).
(23) Make sure that you have identified the tightened union nuts of the V-band couplings (6) and (8) with a red line.
(24) Make sure that the fittings of the indicating tube (12) are not damaged and that they are correctly installed (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831).
Subtask 36-11-52-480-136-A (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(4) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(6) Make sure that you disconnected the muscle sense tube (1) from the Environmental Control System (ECS) Y-duct (10) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-831).
(7) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(8) Remove the blanking plugs from the PRV (11).
(9) Do a visual inspection of the PRV (11) as follows:
(a) Make sure that there is no FOD contamination in the PRV (11).
(b) Make sure that there are no cracks, corrosion or other damage.
(10) Move the ECS Y-duct (10) and ECS pylon duct (4) a small distance as necessary to get sufficient clearance.
(11) Put the PRV (11) in position as follows:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE KEYWAY ON THE VALVE IS ENGAGED WITH THE KEY ON THE DUCT. IF THE POSITION OF THE KEYWAY IS NOT CORRECT, DAMAGE TO THE VALVE AND ITS PARTS CAN OCCUR.
(a) Put the new AIPC 36-11-49-05-030 SEAL (5) , AIPC 36-11-49-05-030 SEAL (9) and the PRV (11) in their correct installation positions between the ECS Y-duct (10) and the ECS pylon duct (4). (b) Make sure that the flow direction arrow on the valve points in the correct direction.
(12) Install the two V-band couplings (6) and (8). Do not torque the V-band couplings (6) and (8) at this time:
(a) Make sure that the positions of the V-band couplings (6) and (8) agree with the positions that you recorded during the removal.
(13) Connect the PRV muscle sense-tube (3) to the PRV (11) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831) and not to torque the PRV muscle sense-tube-fittings at this time.
(14) Adjustment
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT:
(a) Adjust the PRV (11), the ECS Y-duct (10) and the ECS pylon duct (4) as necessary to remove the preload from the ECS system (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-827). - THERE IS NO TENSION ON THE LINK ASSEMBLIES FOR THE ECS DUCTS
- THE MATING SURFACES BETWEEN THE DUCTS CORRECTLY ALIGN.
(15) Torque the V-band couplings (6) and (8) that attach the PRV (11) as follows:
(a) TORQUE the V-band couplings (6) and (8) to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
. (b) Tap around the outer surfaces of the V-band couplings (6) and (8) with a HAMMER - FIBER.
(c) TORQUE the V-band couplings (6) and (8) a second time to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
. (d) Tap around the outer surfaces of the V-band couplings (6) and (8) again with the HAMMER - FIBER.
(e) TORQUE the V-band couplings (6) and (8) a third time to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
. (f) Tap around the outer surfaces of the V-band couplings (6) and (8) again with the HAMMER - FIBER.
(g) TORQUE the V-band couplings (6) and (8) to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
. (h) Make sure that the two full threads are shown on the V-band couplings (6) and (8).
(i) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(16) Tighten the fitting on the PRV muscle sense-tube (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831).
(17) Connect the ECS electrical harness as follows:
CAUTION:
USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.
(a) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.(b) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Connect the ECS harness-assembly connector (2) to the PRV (11).
(d) Tighten the connector with your hand and then turn the connector a quarter more with a PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
(18) Install the fitting on the muscle sense tube (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831).
(19) Install the indicating tube (12) on the ECS Y-Duct (10) and the High Pressure Valve (HPV) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831).
(20) Make sure that the muscle sense tube (1) and the PRV muscle sense-tube (3) are not damaged and that they are correctly installed (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831).
(21) Make sure that the PRV (11), the ECS Y-duct (10) and the ECS pylon duct (4) are correctly aligned.
(22) Make sure that the V-band couplings (6) and (8) are correctly installed, engaged and aligned on the PRV (11).
(23) Make sure that you have identified the tightened union nuts of the V-band couplings (6) and (8) with a red line.
(24) Make sure that the fittings of the indicating tube (12) are not damaged and that they are correctly installed (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-831).
B. Preparation for the Leak Test.
(1) Find the location of a pneumatic joint air-leak with one of the two procedures that follow:
(a) Apply Cleaner-Hydraulic Spillage Absorbent powder - (Material No.08CKB9) or Ardrox 9D4A (Material No.CP3010) around the pneumatic joints, only on the connections of the removed pneumatic components.
1 Wind the foil wrap around the joint one time.
2 Twist the seam of the foil wrap to make it tight.
3 Make the foil wrap as tight as possible on the tube, but do not cause damage to the wrap.
CP8004 lockwire 0.6 mm (0.0236 in.) dia on the two sides of the pneumatic joint.
Subtask 36-11-52-410-194-A (1) Find the location of a pneumatic joint air-leak with one of the two procedures that follow:
(a) Apply Cleaner-Hydraulic Spillage Absorbent powder - (Material No.08CKB9) or Ardrox 9D4A (Material No.CP3010) around the pneumatic joints, only on the connections of the removed pneumatic components.
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you do not apply dry developer on all the pneumatic components.
(b) Install an FOIL - ALUMINUM around the pneumatic joint locations: 1 Wind the foil wrap around the joint one time.
2 Twist the seam of the foil wrap to make it tight.
3 Make the foil wrap as tight as possible on the tube, but do not cause damage to the wrap.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
4 Attach the foil wrap with C. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-806):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(1) On ECAM control-panel 11VU, push the BLEED key (on the lower ECAM DU, the BLEED page comes into view).
(2) On the lower ECAM DU, on the BLEED page:

(7) Do the BITE Test of the Engine-Bleed-Air System (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-00-740-804).
Subtask 36-11-52-865-091-A (1) On ECAM control-panel 11VU, push the BLEED key (on the lower ECAM DU, the BLEED page comes into view).
(2) On the lower ECAM DU, on the BLEED page:
- Make sure that the related PRV bleed valve is shown closed.
(4) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Push the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch (the OFF legend goes off).

I. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Nacelle Maintenance
