4. Procedure
Subtask 36-11-52-420-057-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Bleed Pressure-Regulator Valve (PRV)
   (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
   (2) In the cockpit, on the SD bleed page:
     (a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
   (3) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (5) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (6) Install the PRV as follows:
     (a) Install a new AIPC 36-11-52-80-030 SEAL (5) and a new AIPC 36-11-52-80-030 SEAL (6) on the valve (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
     (b) Put the valve (1) in the correct position for the installation (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-52-000-010).
     (c) Install the couplings (4) and (7).
     (d) Tighten the couplings (4) and (7) sufficiently to hold the valve (1) in position.
     (e) Make sure that there is a clearance between the valve (1) and the bleed air duct.
     (f) TORQUE the coupling nuts to between 85 and 75 lbf.in (0.96 and 0.85 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE VALVE AND THE ENGINE CORE IS CORRECT. DAMAGE TO THE VALVE CAN OCCUR IF CLEARANCE IS LESS THAN 0.39 IN. (10 MM).
     (g) Do a check of the clearance between the valve (1) and the engine core flange. If necessary, do the rigging of the bleed air ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-820-010).

Post SB 70-0614

   (7) Install the heatshield assembly as follows:
NOTE: If the Vendor Service Bulletin (VSB) V2500-NAC-70-0614 is applied on the engine, the heatshield assembly is installed on the valve.
     (a) Install the upper heatshield assembly (9) on the PRV (4001HA) between the valve and the engine case with the hose clamps (10) and (11).
     (b) Put the hose clamps (10) and (11) in their position that is almost the same as shown in
F Bleed Pressure-Regulator Valve ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (c) Install the lockwire:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1 Safety the hose clamps (10) and (11) with lockwire (Material No.V02-147) .

End of Post SB 70-0614

CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WITH THE SEMI-FLEXIBLE SENSE LINE. DEFORMATION OF THE RIGID PART OR LARGE DEFORMATION OF THE FLEXIBLE PART CAN QUICKLY CAUSE LEAKAGE.
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES DURING DISCONNECTION OF THE SENSE LINE, ONE TO MAINTAIN THE FIXED NUT AND THE SECOND ONE TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN THE SENSE LINE COUPLING.
   (8) Install the pressure sense lines as follows:
NOTE: Some interchangeable PRVs have a second pneumatic port on the regulator assembly.
Do not use the second pneumatic port. If necessary, install a PLUG - BLANKING on it.
Pre SB ENG 36-0007

     (a) Connect the pressure sense line (3) to the valve.

End of Pre SB ENG 36-0007
