THE PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE AND THE PRESSURE GAGE ASSEMBLY OF THE TEST SET ARE HEAVY AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On the AIR COND section of panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
(b) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
(3) On the center pedestal, on the ENG section of panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(4) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(5) On the HP ground connector:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.

(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(5) On the HP ground connector:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.

E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System
Subtask 36-11-51-010-115-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make the thrust reverser system unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). F. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
451AL and 452AR.
(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
461AL and 462AR.
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable engine.
4. Procedure(1) Open the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
461AL and 462AR.
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable engine.
Subtask 36-11-51-750-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Manual Test of the HPV
(1) On the HPV position indicator, record the position of the butterfly valve.
(2) Make sure that the butterfly valve moves freely:
Subtask 36-11-51-480-078-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the HPV position indicator, record the position of the butterfly valve.
(2) Make sure that the butterfly valve moves freely:
- On the position indicator, use a WRENCH - STANDARD to fully open and fully close the butterfly valve.
- Put the butterfly valve in CLOSED position.
B. Connection of the Test Set
(1) Remove the test port screw from the test port of the HPV.
(2) Close the shutoff valve, the purge valve and the pressure regulator valve on the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(3) Connect the 98D36109004000 ADAPTOR KIT-BLEED to the test port of the HPV.
(4) Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED to the 98D36109004000 ADAPTOR KIT-BLEED.
(5) Connect the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(6) Set the digital pressure gage back to 0 psi (0.00 bar).
Subtask 36-11-51-720-083-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the test port screw from the test port of the HPV.
(2) Close the shutoff valve, the purge valve and the pressure regulator valve on the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(3) Connect the 98D36109004000 ADAPTOR KIT-BLEED to the test port of the HPV.
(4) Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED to the 98D36109004000 ADAPTOR KIT-BLEED.
(5) Connect the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(6) Set the digital pressure gage back to 0 psi (0.00 bar).
C. Functional Test of the HPV

D. Disconnection of the Test Set
(1) Close the shutoff valve of the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(2) Slowly open the purge valve of the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(3) Disconnect the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY from the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(4) Disconnect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED from the 98D36109004000 ADAPTOR KIT-BLEED
(5) Disconnect the 98D36109004000 ADAPTOR KIT-BLEED from the HPV.
(6) Install the test port screw on the test port of the HPV.
(7) TORQUE the test port screw to between 2.2 and 1.8 m.daN (16.22 and 13.27 lbf.ft )

5. Close-up(1) Close the shutoff valve of the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(2) Slowly open the purge valve of the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(3) Disconnect the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY from the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(4) Disconnect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED from the 98D36109004000 ADAPTOR KIT-BLEED
(5) Disconnect the 98D36109004000 ADAPTOR KIT-BLEED from the HPV.
(6) Install the test port screw on the test port of the HPV.
(7) TORQUE the test port screw to between 2.2 and 1.8 m.daN (16.22 and 13.27 lbf.ft )
