Subtask 36-11-51-020-063-A
A. Removal of the HPV
   (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
   (2) In the cockpit, on the SD bleed page:
     (a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
   (3) For the removal of the HP bleed valve:
  • Loosen the fasteners of the Environmental Control-System (ECS) Y-duct (4) and HP T-duct (10) as necessary to get a sufficient clearance (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-827).
   (4) Remove the lower V-band coupling (1) of the Intermediate-Pressure (IP) bleed check-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-41-000-803).
   (5) Disconnect the ECS-harness assembly connector (2) from the HP bleed valve (11).
   (6) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (7) Disconnect the HPV muscle sense-tube (3) from the HPV (11) and the ECS Y-duct (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-831).
   (8) Record the position of the V-band couplings (6) and (8) before you remove them.
   (9) Hold the HPV (11) and remove the V-band couplings (6) and (8).
NOTE: The V-band couplings (6) and (8) attach the HPV (11) to the ECS Y-duct (4) and HP T-duct (10).
   (10) Carefully move the ECS Y-duct (4) and HP T-duct (10) a small distance to get a clearance between them.
   (11) Remove the HPV (11) from the engine.
   (12) Remove and discard the seals (5) and (9).
   (13) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (14) Put PLUG - BLANKING on all the openings of the HPV (11).
   (15) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
Subtask 36-11-51-200-051-A
B. Inspection of the HP Bleed Valve
