NOTE: It is not necessary to do this test if you install a new filter or a filter cleaned with (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-43-100-001).
NOTE: You can use a M65723281 TEST BOX (T06A) or a 98D36103000000 PRESSURE LOSS TEST (4) to do this test.
   (1) If you use the M65723281 TEST BOX (T06A), install a GAGE 5 BAR (75 PSI) - PRESSURE on the M65723281 TEST BOX (T06A).
   (2) Put the banjo tube (3) in position with the new AIPC 36-11-43-01-040 SEALS (1) on the M65723281 TEST BOX (T06A) or the 98D36103000000 PRESSURE LOSS TEST (4).
   (3) Install the filter (2).
   (4) Apply a pressure of 4 -0.1 bar or +0.1 bar (58.02 -1.45 psi or +1.45 psi) to the M65723281 TEST BOX (T06A) or to the 98D36103000000 PRESSURE LOSS TEST (4):
     (a) Do a check of the pressure (P1) on the pressure gauge.
   (5) Make sure that the pressure (P2) is less than or equal to 0.1 bar (1.45 psi) with the M65723281 TEST BOX (T06A) or with the 98D36103000000 PRESSURE LOSS TEST (4).

   (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
   (2) In the cockpit, on the SD bleed page:
     (a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in the ambient conditions.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
   (3) Clean the component interfaces and/or the adjacent area.
   (4) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and/or the adjacent area.
   (5) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the opening of the thermostat (3).
   (6) Install a new AIPC 36-11-43-01-040 SEAL (2) on the filter (4):
     (a) Make sure that the convex side of the new seal (2) touches the filter (4).
CAUTION: BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO PUT TOO MUCH LUBRICANT ON THE FITTING. TOO MUCH LUBRICANT CAN CAUSE:
  • CLOGGING OF THE JET INSIDE THE PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE BODY (AND THUS HIGH PRESSURE SENT TO THE FAN AIR VALVE)
  • POLLUTION IN THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEMED HOSE
  • AN ODOR TO OCCUR IN THE CABIN.
   (7) Apply a thin layer of Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) to the threads of the filter (4) as follows:
     (a) Use a small brush and get a very small quantity of Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) .
NOTE: You can use a brush of 5 mm width.
     (b) Make sure that you do not put the brush into Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) .
NOTE: If you put the brush into Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) , there will be a large quantity of lubricant on the brush.
     (c) Apply a small quantity of Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) only on the threads of the filter with the brush:
1 Make sure that you do not apply Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) on areas other than the threads of the filter.
2 Make sure that you can see the threads of the filter after you apply Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) .
   (8) Use a SOCKET DIA 1/2 IN (12.7 MM) and install the filter (4) or a new AIPC 36-11-43-01-030 FILTER (4).
   (9) TORQUE the filter (4) to between 2 and 1.8 m.daN (14.75 and 13.27 lbf.ft )
T.
WARNING: USE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (10) Safety the filter (4) with a 14QDB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES Nickel Alloy -.
