A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the engine shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) On ENG panel 115VU:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine(s).
   (3) In the cockpit, on center pedestal panel 114VU:
  • Install a 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION in position on the flap and slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
  • Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap and slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap and slat controls.
   (4) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ENG FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
   (5) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM system only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU, make sure that:
  • The ENG 1 BLEED and ENG 2 BLEED pushbutton-switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
  • The PACK 1 and PACK 2 pushbutton-switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
  • The PACK FLOW selector switch is set to the LO position.
  • The X BLEED selector switch is set to the AUTO position (on the BLEED page, the CROSSBLEED valve is shown closed).
  • The APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off) (on the BLEED page, the APU BLEED valve is shown closed).
   (2) On the ANTI ICE section of panel 25VU:
  • Make sure that the ANTI ICE WING pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).

D. Get access to the avionics compartment.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE FWD AVIONICS ACCESS DOOR 811 IS OPEN WITH A WARNING PLACARD ATTACHED TO IT. THE WARNING NOTICE MUST TELL PERSONS NOT TO CLOSE THE DOOR. THIS PREVENTS ACCIDENTAL PRESSURIZATION OF THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the access door 811.
   (2) Open access door 811 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to close door 811.

   (2) Remove these access panels:
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
413ET (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-806).
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
423ET (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-806).
   (3) Remove the insulation from the pylon duct sleeves.
4. Procedure
Subtask 36-11-00-790-056-A
A. Leak Check of the Combo Seals of the Pylon Duct Sleeves
ACTION
RESULT
1.Start the APU to pressurize the pneumatic system (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-005).
A.After the APU starts, Airbus recommends you to wait for a minimum of 3 minutes for the warm up period, before you select the APU BLEED.

2.In the cockpit, on the ECAM control panel:
  • Push the BLEED key.
In the cockpit, on the lower ECAM Display Unit (DU):
  • The BLEED page comes into view.
On the BLEED page:
  • Make sure that the bleed valves are shown closed.
3.In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Push the APU BLEED pushbutton-switch.
In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • The ON legend of the APU BLEED pushbutton-switch comes on.

On the BLEED page of the lower ECAM DU:
  • The APU bleed valve is shown open (vertical green line).
4.Make sure that there are no leaks at the combo seals of the pylon duct sleeves (Ref. AMM TASK 36-22-00-790-803).

5.In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Release the APU BLEED pushbutton-switch.
In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • The ON legend of the APU BLEED pushbutton-switch goes off.
6.Stop the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006).

5. Close-up

   (1) Install the insulation on the pylon duct sleeves.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Install these access panels:
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
413ET (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-806).
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
423ET (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-400-806).

B. Close Access
   (1) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap and slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
   (2) Close access door 811 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
