A. Functional Check of the PRV Control-Solenoid (10HA1) Non-Return-Function
F BLEED Page ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
ACTION
RESULT
1.In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Push the ENG 1 BLEED and ENG 2 BLEED pushbutton-switches (the OFF legends are off).
  • Set the PACK 1 and PACK 2 to ON, in the normal mode (NORM).
NOTE: If there is a problem with the opposite flow protection, you can set the PACK 1(2) switch to OFF.
On the SD:
  • The BLEED page comes into view
  • The BLEED page shows the PRVs (4001HA1, 4001HA2) are in the open position.
2.To do the test of the PRV control-solenoid (10HA1) non-return-function:
  • Slowly push the ENGINE-2 thrust lever to around 30% N1.
On the SD:
  • The PRV (4001HA2) is in the open position.
Do a check for the position of the PRV (4001HA1):
  • Check that the PRV (4001HA1) closes and stays in the closed position.
Record the engine rating and the bleed pressure value then go to the step 3.
  • If the PRV (4001HA1) stays in the open position:
Slowly pull the ENGINE-2 thrust lever rearward to the idle position.
Set the PACK 1(2) to the released position (the OFF legend is on).
Slowly push the ENGINE-2 thrust lever until the thrust is 30% N1.
Monitor the status of the PRV (4001HA1).
If the PRV (4001HA1) continues to stay in the open position, it is because of a defective PRV control solenoid.
In such conditions, do the steps carefully to make sure that the procedure is followed correctly.
Make sure that:
  • GEN 2 frequency stays at 400 Hz ± 5Hz.
  • IDG 2 output temperature stays below 130 DEG.C (266 DEG.F).
3.Slowly pull the ENGINE-2 thrust lever rearward to the idle position.
On the SD:
  • The PRV (4001HA1) and the HPV (4000HA1) comes back to the open position.
NOTE: For a reopening of the PRV, it can be necessary to:
  • Close the X bleed valve
  • Increase the thrust of engine 1 until 30% N1 in small increments.
NOTE: This test covers the reverse flow protection test at ENGINE 1.

On the ECAM display:
  • No warnings and messages are displayed.
