Health Check Procedure - Pressure Control Function

TASK 36-11-00-720-806-A
Health Check Procedure - Pressure Control Function

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
NOTE: In the health check procedures the electrical harness is in correct functioning condition.
1. Reason for the Job
The Bleed Health Check procedure has a set of steps to do in order to check preventively the three primary functions of the EBAS. The initial recommended maintenance interval is every 20 months. However, as the ageing effects on EBAS equipment are linked to local parameters and operating environment, Airbus recommends to customize this interval based on operators own experience.
  • For A/C with HPV Solenoid Valve:
NOTE: Only applicable to A319 with (11HA) and A320 with IAE-2500 ENG and (4029KS)).
The pressure control function contains the High Pressure Bleed Valve (HPV) 4000HA, the High Pressure Valve Control Solenoid and the sense line that connects them with the Pressure Regulation Valve (PRV) 4001HA.
  • For A/C without HPV Solenoid Valve:
NOTE: Only applicable to A320.
The pressure control function contains the High Pressure Bleed Valve (HPV) 4000HA and the sense line that connects it with the Pressure Regulation Valve (PRV) 4001HA.
  • For A/C ALL
The pressure control function of the bleed system contains a flow chart that should be used for guidance. This flow chart gives a visual idea of the procedure.
In order to make easy the maintenance action sequence and to prevent any maintenance action that is not necessary, each AMM task is structured in a special flow chart.
Indeed is not necessary to test all components if the first test at function level is satisfactory. Also, sense line installation can be damaged during disconnection-reconnection for testing, and a systematic test of the sense line is not recommended. Leakage test at sense line level is required only if a need for troubleshooting is confirmed.
The operator can remove the components that have a drift, as given in the applicable flow chart, immediately or at the next maintenance unless there is an EWD message and the source of the CLASS1 failure is the component that has the drift. In this condition, you must refer to the MMEL/TSM for the aircraft dispatch.
NOTE: You can use bleed test set P/N 99127B04 as an alternative to bleed test set P/N 99127B03.

A. Removal of the Tool for the HPV Solenoid Valve test
   (1) For the HPV (4000HA) with the deactivation screw on the regulator:
     (a) Disconnect and remove the adaptor (T15) or (T19), the sense line tester (T10) and the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) from the HPV (4000HA) as follows:
1 Disconnect the sense line tester (T10) from the test port adaptor (T15) or (T19) installed in the test port of the HPV (4000HA).
2 Disconnect the sense line tester (T10) with the hose (T05) from the bleed test-set connector (14).
3 Disconnect the sense line tester (T10) with the hose (T04) from the bleed test-set connector (9).
     (b) Stop the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
     (c) Disconnect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) from the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and the external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
CAUTION: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE DEACTIVATION SCREW ON THE VALVE, TIGHTEN THE SCREW WITH YOUR HAND BEFORE YOU TORQUE IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SCREW AND THE VALVE.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE DEACTIVATION SCREW, MAKE SURE THAT THE PREFORMED PACKING IS INSTALLED ON THE DEACTIVATION SCREW.
     (d) Install the deactivation screw as follows:
NOTE: If the adaptor (T19) is installed, the deactivation screw is installed with a preformed packing. Airbus recommends you to replace the preformed packing with a new one.
     (e) Install the deactivation screw on the HPV (4000HA).
     (f) TORQUE the deactivation screw to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in ) T.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (g) Safety the deactivation screw on its support with the 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (2) For the HPV (4000HA) without deactivation screw on the regulator:
     (a) Disconnect and remove the
99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01), the sense line tester (T10) and the sense line adaptor (T20) from the sense line union as follows:
1 Disconnect the sense line tester (T10) from the sense line adaptor (T20) installed in the test port of the HPV (4000HA).
     (d) Remove the blanking plug (T16) from the HPV.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES ON UNIONS.
     (e) Connect the sense line as follows:
1 Make sure that there is no grease or oil on the pneumatic and sense line unions.
2 Connect the sense line to the HPV:
a To prevent damage to the fitting end of the sense line, turn the union with your hand and not with a spanner.
3 Do the double torque method on the union of the sense line to between 1.69 and 1.52 m.daN (12.46 and 11.21 lbf.ft ) T as follows:
a TORQUE the union of the sense line to the given value.
b Loosen the union of the sense line a quarter of a turn.
c TORQUE the union of the sense line again to the given value
4 Make a mark on the union of the sense line with paint.
