MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
1. Reason for the JobTo make sure that there are no leaks on the sense line connected between the Fan-Air Valve Control-Thermostat 7170HM and the Fan-Air Valve 9HA1 (9HA2).
NOTE: You can use bleed test set P/N 99127B04 as an alternative to bleed test set P/N 99127B03.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:

(2) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
C. Get Access

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 36-11-00-010-099-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041). E. Open the thrust reverser doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040):

Subtask 36-11-00-160-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Cleaning of the Banjo Screw of the FAV
(a) Use the applicable thread holder (1) to put a nylon wire into the calibration hole of the banjo screw (2).
(b) Remove all particles of dust from the banjo screw (2).
Subtask 36-11-00-480-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: This procedure is applicable to the FAV P/N 6730F010000 or 6730C010000.
(1) Use a GSE tool 98D36109003000 FAV BANJ CLEAN -BLEED to clean the banjo screw (2) as follows: (a) Use the applicable thread holder (1) to put a nylon wire into the calibration hole of the banjo screw (2).
(b) Remove all particles of dust from the banjo screw (2).
NOTE: You can blow air (6 psig maximum) through the hole to make sure that there is no dust near the hole.
(c) Make sure that the calibration hole stays clean. B. Installation of the Tool
(1) Connect the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to the sense line tester (T10) as shown in the figure.
(4) Remove the deactivation screw.
(b) Apply force when you tighten the adaptor (T15) or (T19) with your hand.
(6) Open the pressure-source shut-off valve slowly and pressurize the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to 30 psi (2.07 bar).
Subtask 36-11-00-720-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Connect the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to the sense line tester (T10) as shown in the figure.
- For the fan air valve (orange deactivation screw):
- For the fan air valve (deactivation screw with hexagonal head):
NOTE: Use the 99127-231 TEST SET BLEED - KIT to do this test.
NOTE: Set the pressure gauge (5) to ON. The pressure value shown on the LCD screen must be equal to 0 psi (0 bar). If it is not equal to 0 psi (0 bar), push the ON button for 10 seconds.
(2) Connect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) between the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and an external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL: - Start the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Cut and discard the lockwire of the deactivation screw of the fan air valve. (4) Remove the deactivation screw.
NOTE: Use a WRENCH 5/16 IN (8MM) - SPANNER if necessary.
(5) Connection of the sense line tester: CAUTION:
FIRST TRY TO INSTALL THE ADAPTOR WITH THE SHORTEST THREADED AREA (T15). IF YOU CANNOT INSTALL IT, INSTALL THE OTHER ADAPTOR (T19). MAKE SURE THAT THE ADAPTOR (T15 OR T19) IS CORRECTLY TIGHTENED.
(a) Connect the sense line tester (T10) to the fan air valve with the adaptor (T15) or (T19). (b) Apply force when you tighten the adaptor (T15) or (T19) with your hand.
(6) Open the pressure-source shut-off valve slowly and pressurize the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to 30 psi (2.07 bar).

D. Removal of the Tool
(1) With the pressure gauge A (3), decrease the pressure to 0 psi (0 bar).
(2) Stop the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
(3) Disconnect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) from the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and the external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
(4) Disconnect and remove the adaptor (T15) or (T19), the sense line tester (T10) and the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) from the fan air valve.
(b) TORQUE the deactivation screw to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )

(c) Safety the deactivation screw on its support with lockwire14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
5. Close-up(1) With the pressure gauge A (3), decrease the pressure to 0 psi (0 bar).
(2) Stop the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
(3) Disconnect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) from the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and the external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
(4) Disconnect and remove the adaptor (T15) or (T19), the sense line tester (T10) and the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) from the fan air valve.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU INSTALL THE DEACTIVATION SCREW ON THE VALVE, TIGHTEN THE SCREW WITH YOUR HAND BEFORE YOU TORQUE IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SCREW AND THE VALVE.
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE DEACTIVATION SCREW, MAKE SURE THAT THE PREFORMED PACKING IS INSTALLED ON THE DEACTIVATION SCREW.
(5) Installation of the deactivation screw: NOTE: If the adaptor (T19) is installed, the deactivation screw is equipped with a preformed packing.
(a) Install the deactivation screw on the fan air valve. (b) TORQUE the deactivation screw to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
