1. Reason for the Job
To make sure that there are no leaks on the sense line connected between the High-Pressure Bleed Valve and the Bleed-Pressure Regulator Valve.
NOTE: You can use bleed test set P/N 99127B04 as an alternative to bleed test set P/N 99127B03.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
   (3) On the ENG panel 115VU:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
   (4) On the HP ground connector:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
   (5) On the ENG section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

4. Procedure
Subtask 36-11-00-480-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Tool (HP Bleed Valve with Deactivation Screw on Regulator)
   (1) Connect the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to the sense line tester (T10) as shown in the figure.
NOTE: Use the 99127-231 TEST SET BLEED - KIT to do this test.
NOTE: Set the pressure gauge (5) to ON. The pressure value shown on the LCD screen must be equal to 0 psi (0 bar). If it is not equal to 0 psi (0 bar), push the ON button for 10 seconds.
   (2) Connect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) between the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and an external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL:
  • Start the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (3) Removal of the lockwire:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Cut and discard the lockwire of the deactivation screw of the HP bleed valve.
   (4) Remove the deactivation screw.
NOTE: Use a WRENCH 5/16 IN (8MM) - SPANNER if necessary.
   (5) Connection of the sense line tester:
CAUTION: FIRST TRY TO INSTALL THE ADAPTOR WITH THE SHORTEST THREADED AREA (T15). IF YOU CANNOT INSTALL IT, INSTALL THE OTHER ADAPTOR (T19). MAKE SURE THAT THE ADAPTOR (T15 OR T19) IS CORRECTLY TIGHTENED.
     (a) Connect the sense line tester (T10) to the HP bleed valve with the adaptor (T15) or (T19).
     (b) Apply force when you tighten the adaptor (T15) or (T19) with your hand.
   (6) Open the pressure-source shut-off valve slowly and pressurize the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to 30 psi (2.07 bar).

B. Installation of the Tool (HP Bleed Valve without Deactivation Screw on Regulator)
   (1) Connect the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to the sense line tester (T10) as shown in the figure.
NOTE: Use the 99127-231 TEST SET BLEED - KIT to do this test.
NOTE: Set the pressure gauge (5) to ON. The pressure value shown on the LCD screen must be equal to 0 psi (0 bar). If it is not equal to 0 psi (0 bar), push the ON button for 10 seconds.
   (2) Connect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) between the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and an external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL:
  • Start the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES ON UNIONS.
   (3) Disconnection of the sense line:
NOTE: Loosen the pneumatic union a quarter turn with a spanner. Then shake the sense line with your hand to prevent cross thread damage to the pneumatic union.
To prevent damage to the fitting end of the sense line, turn the union with your hand and not with a spanner.
     (a) Disconnect the sense line from the HP bleed valve.
   (4) Put the blanking plug (T16) on the HP bleed valve.
   (5) Connection of the sense line adaptor (T20):
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE ADAPTOR T20 IS CORRECTLY TIGHTENED ON THE SENSE LINE.
     (a) Connect the sense line adaptor (T20) to the sense line union and TORQUE to between 1.1 and 0.9 m.daN (97.35 and 79.65 lbf.in ) T.
   (6) Connect the sense line tester (T10) to the sense line adaptor (T20).
   (7) Open the pressure-source shut-off valve slowly and pressurize the
99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to 30 psi (2.07 bar).

B. Installation of the Tool (HP Bleed Valve without Deactivation Screw on Regulator)
   (1) Connect the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to the sense line tester (T10) as shown in the figure.
NOTE: Use the 99127-231 TEST SET BLEED - KIT to do this test.
NOTE: Set the pressure gauge (5) to ON. The pressure value shown on the LCD screen must be equal to 0 psi (0 bar). If it is not equal to 0 psi (0 bar), push the ON button for 10 seconds.
   (2) Connect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) between the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and an external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL:
  • Start the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES ON UNIONS.
   (3) Disconnection of the sense line:
NOTE: Loosen the pneumatic union a quarter turn with a spanner. Then shake the sense line with your hand to prevent cross thread damage to the pneumatic union.
To prevent damage to the fitting end of the sense line, turn the union with your hand and not with a spanner.
NOTE: Do not bend the pneumatic pipes or use force to get access. If necessary, release the supporting clips of the sense line until the sense line can be moved easily.
     (a) Disconnect the sense line from the HP bleed valve.
   (4) Put the blanking plug (T16) on the HP bleed valve.
   (5) Connection of the sense line adaptor (T20):
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE ADAPTOR T20 IS CORRECTLY TIGHTENED ON THE SENSE LINE.
     (a) Connect the sense line adaptor (T20) to the sense line union and TORQUE to between 1.1 and 0.9 m.daN (97.35 and 79.65 lbf.in ) T.
   (6) Connect the sense line tester (T10) to the sense line adaptor (T20).
   (7) Open the pressure-source shut-off valve slowly and pressurize the
99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) to 30 psi (2.07 bar).

ACTION
RESULT
1.On the sense line tester:
  • Open the valves 1 and 2.
On the sense line tester:
  • The two valves are aligned with the pneumatic ducts.
2.On the test set:
  • Set the Blue valve (7) to ON.

3.On the test set:
  • With the pressure gauge A (3), increase the pressure to between 21 and 22 psi (1.45 and 1.52 bar).
On the test set:
  • The pressure value shows on the LCD (5).
4.On the sense line tester:
  • Close the valve 1.
On the sense line tester:
  • The valve 1 is not aligned with the pneumatic duct.
5.On the test set:
  • Do a check of the pressure value shown on the LCD (5).
On the test set:
  • The pressure is more or equal to 5.8 psi (0.40 bar).
6.On the High Pressure (HP) bleed-valve control-solenoid (4029KS):
  • Make sure that the torque of the two tube union nuts is between 204 lbf.in (2.31 m.daN) and 221 lbf.in (2.50 m.daN) to prevent leaks.

D. Removal of the Tool (HP Bleed Valve with the Deactivation Screw on the Regulator)
   (1) With pressure gauge A (3), decrease the pressure to 0 psi (0 bar).
   (2) Stop the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (3) Disconnect 28VDC electrical cord (T03) from the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and the external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (4) Disconnect and remove the adaptor (T15) or (T19), the sense line tester (T10) and the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) from the HP bleed valve.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE DEACTIVATION SCREW ON THE VALVE, TIGHTEN THE SCREW WITH YOUR HAND BEFORE YOU TORQUE IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SCREW AND THE VALVE.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE DEACTIVATION SCREW, MAKE SURE THAT THE PREFORMED PACKING IS INSTALLED ON THE DEACTIVATION SCREW.
   (5) To install the deactivation screw, do the steps that follow:
NOTE: If the adaptor (T19) is installed, the deactivation screw has a preformed PACKING.
     (a) Make sure that you install a new preformed PACKING on the deactivation screw if you removed the adaptor (T19).
     (b) Install the deactivation screw on the HP bleed valve.
     (c) TORQUE the deactivation screw to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in ) T.
     (d) Safety the deactivation screw on its support with the lockwire 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.

E. Removal of the Tool (HP Bleed Valve without Deactivation Screw on Regulator)
   (1) With the pressure gauge A (3), decrease the pressure to 0 psi (0 bar).
   (2) Stop the SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (3) Disconnect the 28VDC electrical cord (T03) from the electrical inlet (11) of the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01) and the external SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL.
   (4) Disconnect and remove the 99127B03 BLEED TEST SET (T01), the sense line tester (T10) and the sense line adaptor (T20) from the sense line union.
   (5) Remove the blanking plug (T16) from the HP bleed valve.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES ON UNIONS.
   (6) Connection of the sense line:
NOTE: There must be no grease or oil on the pneumatic and sense line unions.
     (a) Connect the sense line to the HP bleed valve.
NOTE: To prevent damage to the fitting end of the sense line, turn the union with your hand and not with a spanner.
     (b) Do the double torque method on the union of the sense line to between 1.69 and 1.52 m.daN (12.46 and 11.21 lbf.ft ) T.
NOTE: Double torque method: Torque a first time the union of the sense line to the given value. Loosen the union of the sense line a quarter of a turn. Then torque a second time the union to the given value.
     (c) Make a mark on the union of the sense line with paint.
