Operational Test of Closing Signal to Temperature Limitation Thermostat Solenoid from Engine Fire Pushbutton

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU WILL NOT CAUSE UNWANTED CHANGES TO OTHER SYSTEMS BEFORE YOU PUSH THE ENG1(2) FIRE PUSHBUTTON SWITCH. WHEN YOU PUSH THE ENG1(2) FIRE PUSHBUTTON SWITCH:

THESE VALVES CLOSE

. THE LP FUEL VALVE . THE HYDRAULIC FIRE VALVE . THE BLEED AIR VALVES . THE ANTI-ICE VALVES . THE AIR CONDITIONING PACK VALVES

THE GENERATOR STOPS.

CAUTION: TO RESET THE ENG 1(2) APU FIRE PUSHBUTTON SWITCH:

PUSH THE PUSHBUTTON SWITCH FULLY IN (LATCHED POSITION).

THEN CLOSE THE GUARD. DO NOT TRY TO CLOSE THE GUARD AND PUSH THE PUSHBUTTON SWITCH AT THE SAME TIME.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shut down occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On the ENG panel 115VU:

put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).

(3) On the ENG section of the maintenance panel 50VU:

make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off,
put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the FADEC 1(2).

(4) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:

make sure that the ENG 1 BLEED and ENG 2 BLEED pushbutton switches are pushed (the OFF legends are off),
make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off),
put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.

1.On the panel 20VU: push and release the ENG 1(2) FIRE pushbutton switch until you hear clicks from the control solenoid of the bleed pressure-regulator valve.	On the bleed pressure-regulator valve: make sure that the solenoid makes clicks.

B. Do an operational test of the Hydraulic Fire Shut-Off Valves (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-710-001)

5. Close-up

CAUTION: TO RESET THE ENG 1(2) APU FIRE PUSHBUTTON SWITCH:

PUSH THE PUSHBUTTON SWITCH FULLY IN (LATCHED POSITION).

THEN CLOSE THE GUARD. DO NOT TRY TO CLOSE THE GUARD AND PUSH THE PUSHBUTTON SWITCH AT THE SAME TIME.

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) On the ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD on the overhead panel 20VU, close the safety guard of the ENG 1(2) FIRE pushbutton switch.
(2) On the panel 35VU:

reset the generator 1(2) with the GEN 1(2) pushbutton switch.

(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
