(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) is shut down occurred not less than 5 minutes.
(2) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:

- make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on)
- make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off)
- put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
- put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
- make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off
- put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). I. Open the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):

1 Apply NEVERSEEZ REGULAR GRADE (Material No.357500) or NEVER-SEEZ PURE NICKEL SPECIAL (Material No.357700) on the knurled screw (1).2 Install the knurled screw (1) on its storage port.
3 Tighten the knurled screw (1) with your hand.

3 TORQUE the safety screw (1) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )

MAKE SURE THAT THE PACKING IS IN POSITION WHEN YOU INSTALL THE LOCKING PIN ON ITS SUPPORT. THIS WILL PREVENT VENTING OF THE VALVE REGULATOR.
(a) Remove the special screw (1) from the override control to unlock the valve. (b) Install the washer (2) on the special screw (1).
(c) Install a new AIPC 36-11-52-01-150 PACKING (3).
(d) Install the special screw (1) as follows:
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE LOCKING PIN OR SAFETY SCREW OR SPECIAL SCREW OR KNURLED SCREW, YOU MUST APPLY NEVER-SEEZ REGULAR GRADE. IF YOU DO NOT APPLY IT, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MANUAL OVERRIDE CONTROL OF THE VALVE.
1 Apply NEVERSEEZ REGULAR GRADE (Material No.357500) or NEVER-SEEZ PURE NICKEL SPECIAL (Material No.357700) on the special screw (1).2 Install the special screw (1) on its storage port with washer (2).
3 Tighten the special screw (1) with your hand.
(e) Install the lockwire as follows:

(a) Remove the safety screw (1) from the override control to unlock the valve. (b) Install a new AIPC 36-11-52-01-030 PACKING (2).
(c) Install the safety screw (1) as follows:
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE LOCKING PIN OR SAFETY SCREW OR SPECIAL SCREW OR KNURLED SCREW, YOU MUST APPLY NEVER-SEEZ REGULAR GRADE. IF YOU DO NOT APPLY IT, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MANUAL OVERRIDE CONTROL OF THE VALVE.
1 Apply NEVERSEEZ REGULAR GRADE (Material No.357500) or NEVER-SEEZ PURE NICKEL SPECIAL (Material No.357700) on the safety screw (1).2 Install the safety screw (1) on its storage port.
3 TORQUE the safety screw (1) to between 0.6 and 0.4 m.daN (53.10 and 35.40 lbf.in )
. (d) Install the lockwire as follows:

- Push the ENG 1 (2) BLEED pushbutton switch (the OFF legend is off).
