B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred for not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
(b) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
(3) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(4) On center pedestal panel 114VU:
(a) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
(5) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
(6) On access door 191DB, on the HP ground connector:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
Subtask 36-11-00-865-187-A (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred for not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.

E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser (T/R) System
Subtask 36-11-00-010-236-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make the T/R unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). F. Get Access
(1) Open the T/R cowl doors:
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position below the engine.
Subtask 36-11-00-010-237-A (1) Open the T/R cowl doors:

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position below the engine.
G. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable pylon access door.
(2) Remove the applicable access door(s):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

4. Procedure(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable pylon access door.
(2) Remove the applicable access door(s):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
Subtask 36-11-00-020-075-A
A. Disconnection of the Sense line
(2) Put the blanking plug on the test port (3) of the BMPS.
(3) Disconnect the BMPS sense-line end (1) from the bleed air tapping-point (2) of the ECS duct (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-827).
(4) Put the blanking plug on the bleed air tapping-point (2) of the ECS duct.
Subtask 36-11-00-480-136-A CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTER TORQUE TO THE UNIONS WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES FROM/TO THE UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST THE PNEUMATIC LINES AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
(1) Disconnect the BMPS sense-line end (4) from the test port (3) of the BMPS (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-836). (2) Put the blanking plug on the test port (3) of the BMPS.
(3) Disconnect the BMPS sense-line end (1) from the bleed air tapping-point (2) of the ECS duct (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-827).
(4) Put the blanking plug on the bleed air tapping-point (2) of the ECS duct.
B. Installation of the Tool
(2) Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED with the 98D36109004000 ADAPTORS KIT-BLEED to the BMPS sense-line end (4).
(3) Set the digital pressure gage back to zero.
(4) Connect an AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(5) Make sure that the pressure regulator valve of the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED is closed before you pressurize the system.
Subtask 36-11-00-160-056-A CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CONNECT/DISCONNECT THE TEST SET TO/FROM THE EQUIPMENT.
THE PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE AND THE PRESSURE GAGE ASSEMBLY OF THE TEST SET ARE HEAVY AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) On the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED, set the shutoff valve, the purge valve and the pressure regulator valve to the close position. (2) Connect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED with the 98D36109004000 ADAPTORS KIT-BLEED to the BMPS sense-line end (4).
(3) Set the digital pressure gage back to zero.
(4) Connect an AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(5) Make sure that the pressure regulator valve of the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED is closed before you pressurize the system.
C. Cleaning of the BMPS Sense Line
(1) Set the shutoff valve of the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the open position.
(2) Slowly pressurize the system to 42 psig (2.90 bar rel.) with the primary regulator valve of the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED or AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(3) On the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED, set the shutoff valve to the open position.
(4) Slowly pressurize the system to 42 psig (2.90 bar rel.) with the pressure regulator valve of the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(5) Let the pressurized air clean the BMPS sense line for 30 seconds.
(6) Depressurize the system with the primary regulator valve of the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED or AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(7) Set the shutoff valve of the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the close position.
Subtask 36-11-00-080-116-A (1) Set the shutoff valve of the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the open position.
(2) Slowly pressurize the system to 42 psig (2.90 bar rel.) with the primary regulator valve of the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED or AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(3) On the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED, set the shutoff valve to the open position.
(4) Slowly pressurize the system to 42 psig (2.90 bar rel.) with the pressure regulator valve of the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(5) Let the pressurized air clean the BMPS sense line for 30 seconds.
(6) Depressurize the system with the primary regulator valve of the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED or AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(7) Set the shutoff valve of the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the close position.
D. Removal of the Tool
(2) Disconnect the 98D36109004000 ADAPTORS KIT-BLEED from the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(3) Disconnect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED from the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(4) Do a visual inspection of the BMPS sense line with a BORESCOPE DIA 5.0 MM (7/32 IN) - FLEXIBLE to look for moisture.
(a) If there is moisture, clean the BMPS sense line again.
Subtask 36-11-00-420-073-A CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CONNECT/DISCONNECT THE TEST SET TO/FROM THE EQUIPMENT.
THE PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE AND THE PRESSURE GAGE ASSEMBLY OF THE TEST SET ARE HEAVY AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Disconnect the 98D36109004000 ADAPTORS KIT-BLEED from the BMPS sense-line end (4). (2) Disconnect the 98D36109004000 ADAPTORS KIT-BLEED from the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED.
(3) Disconnect the 98L36103002000 TEST SET - ENGINE BLEED from the AIR SOURCE 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(4) Do a visual inspection of the BMPS sense line with a BORESCOPE DIA 5.0 MM (7/32 IN) - FLEXIBLE to look for moisture.
(a) If there is moisture, clean the BMPS sense line again.
NOTE: You can do this procedure for a maximum of two times.
E. Connection of the Sense line
(2) Connect the BMPS sense-line end (1) to the bleed air tapping-point (2) of the ECS duct (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-827).
(3) Remove the blanking plug from the test port (3) of the BMPS.
(4) Connect the BMPS sense-line end (4) to the test port (3) of the BMPS (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-836).
5. Close-upCAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTER TORQUE TO THE UNIONS WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES FROM/TO THE UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST THE PNEUMATIC LINES AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
(1) Remove the blanking plug from the bleed air tapping-point (2) of the ECS duct. (2) Connect the BMPS sense-line end (1) to the bleed air tapping-point (2) of the ECS duct (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-827).
(3) Remove the blanking plug from the test port (3) of the BMPS.
(4) Connect the BMPS sense-line end (4) to the test port (3) of the BMPS (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-400-836).

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable access door(s):
