A. Deactivation of the HP Bleed Valve (HPV) (4000HA)
(a) Make sure that the manual override control is in the CLOSED position.
(b) If required, use a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL to set the manual override control to the CLOSED position.
(c) Use the WRENCH - HEXAGONAL to remove the locking pin (1) from its storage port.
(d) Install the locking pin or safety screw or special screw or knurled screw as follows:
2 On the manual override control:
a Lock the manual override control with the locking pin (1).
b TORQUE the locking pin (1) to between 0.5 and 0.4 m.daN (44.25 and 35.40 lbf.in )
.
(2) On the lower ECAM Display Unit (DU), on the BLEED page:
(a) Make sure that the related HPV symbol shows closed in green.
5. Close-upWARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE BLEED VALVE COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION:
CAREFULLY ALIGN THE LOCKING PIN WITH THE DEACTIVATING HOUSING ON THE VALVE. IF YOU ALIGN IT INCORRECTLY OR IF YOU TIGHTEN IT TOO MUCH, THE LOCKING PIN CAN REMAIN IN POSITION AND YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LOCKING PIN THREAD.
(1) On the HPV (4000HA): (a) Make sure that the manual override control is in the CLOSED position.
(b) If required, use a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL to set the manual override control to the CLOSED position.
