Deactivation of the HP Bleed Valve in the CLOSED Position to Isolate the IP Bleed Check-Valve
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
YOU MUST NOT TOUCH HOT PARTS WITHOUT APPLICABLE GLOVES. HOT PARTS CAN CAUSE AN INJURY.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

A. Deactivation of the IP Bleed Check Valve
(a) Use a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL to set the manual override control to the CLOSED position.
(b) Use a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL to remove the locking pin from its storage port.
(c) Apply NEVERSEEZ REGULAR GRADE (Material No.357500) or NEVER-SEEZ PURE NICKEL SPECIAL (Material No.357700) on the locking pin.
(d) Lock this override control with the locking pin.
(e) TORQUE the locking pin to between 0.5 and 0.4 m.daN (44.25 and 35.40 lbf.in )
.
5. Close-upCAUTION:
CAREFULLY ALIGN THE LOCKING PIN WITH THE DEACTIVATING HOUSING ON THE VALVE. IF YOU ALIGN IT INCORRECTLY OR IF YOU TIGHTEN IT TOO MUCH, THE LOCKING PIN CAN REMAIN IN POSITION AND YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LOCKING PIN THREAD.
(1) On the HPV (4000HA): (a) Use a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL to set the manual override control to the CLOSED position.
(b) Use a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL to remove the locking pin from its storage port.
