C. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) is shut down occurred not less than 5 minutes.
(2) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:

Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on)
Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off)
Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.

(3) On the ENG panel 115VU:

Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).

(4) On the HP ground connector:

Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.

(5) On the MAINTENANCE panel 50VU:

Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off
Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

I. Deactivate the Thrust Reverser

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).

4. Procedure
Subtask 36-11-00-040-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Deactivation of the HPV

CAUTION: CAREFULLY ALIGN THE LOCKING PIN WITH THE DEACTIVATING HOUSING ON THE VALVE. IF YOU ALIGN IT INCORRECTLY OR IF YOU TIGHTEN IT TOO MUCH, THE LOCKING PIN CAN REMAIN IN POSITION AND YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LOCKING PIN THREAD.

(1) Do the steps that follow for HPV Part Number (PN) 6773B02 and PN 6713D01 to 6713D07:

HP Bleed Valve P/N 6773B02 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

HP Bleed Valve P/N 6713D01-07 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(a) Use a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL to set the manual override control to the CLOSED position.

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(b) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the knurled screw (1).
(c) Remove the knurled screw (1), the connecting cable and the washer (2) from the storage port:
1 Safety the connecting cable to HPV.
2 Keep the washer (2) to install it in the reactivation procedure.
(d) Lock the override control with the knurled screw (1).

NOTE: The pressure of the valve is released when you remove the locking pin from its storage port.

(e) Tighten the knurled screw (1) with your hand.
(2) Do the steps that follow for HPV PN 6773B03 and PN 6713D08:

HP Bleed Valve P/N 6713D08 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(a) Use a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL to set the manual override control to the CLOSED position.

(b) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the safety screw (1).
(c) Remove the safety screw (1), the connecting cable and the washer (2) from the storage port:
1 Safety the connecting cable to HPV.
2 Keep the washer (2) to install it in the reactivation procedure.
(d) Lock the override control with the safety screw (1).

NOTE: The pressure of the valve is released when you remove the locking pin from its storage port.

(e) TORQUE the safety screw (1) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )

(3) Do the steps that follow for HPV PN 6773E:

HP Bleed Valve P/N 6773E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(a) Use a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL to set the manual override control to the CLOSED position.

(b) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the special screw (1).
(c) Remove the special screw (1), the connecting cable and the washer (2) from the storage port:
1 Safety the connecting cable to HPV.
2 Keep the washer (2) to install it in the reactivation procedure.
(d) Remove and discard the packing (3).
(e) Lock the override control with the special screw (1).

NOTE: The pressure of the valve is released when you remove the locking pin from its storage port.

(f) Tighten the special screw (1) with your hand.
(4) Do the steps that follow for HPV PN 6773F and PN 6773G:

(a) Use a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL to set the manual override control to the CLOSED position.

(b) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the safety screw (1).
(c) Remove the safety screw (1) and the connecting cable from the storage port:
1 Safety the connecting cable to HPV.
(d) Remove and discard the packing (2).
(e) Lock the override control with the safety screw (1).

NOTE: The pressure of the valve is released when you remove the locking pin from its storage port.

(f) TORQUE the safety screw (1) to between 0.6 and 0.5 m.daN (53.10 and 44.25 lbf.in )

(1) On the ECAM control panel, push the BLEED key (on the lower ECAM DU, the BLEED page comes into view).

1 Make sure that the related HP bleed-valve symbol shows closed in green.
2 Make sure that the related bleed-pressure regulator-valve symbol shows closed in green.
