3. Job Set-up
Subtask 35-13-51-860-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the special precautions when you do work on a gaseous oxygen system (Ref. AMM TASK 35-00-00-860-001).
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) which tells persons not to push the OXYGEN/CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch is in position in the cockpit.
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at access door 812.
   (4) Make sure that access door 812 is open.
   (5) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (6) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) which tells persons not to open the manual-shutoff valves of the crew oxygen-storage cylinders 5750HM1 and 5750HM2 are in position.

4. Procedure
Subtask 35-13-51-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of LP Oxygen-Supply Solenoid-Valves
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT EQUIPMENT FROM FLEXIBLE HOSES AND RIGID TUBING. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HOSES AND TUBES.
CAUTION: WHEN YOU APPLY LUBRICANT OR GREASE ON THE THREADS OF THE OXYGEN COUPLINGS, MAKE SURE THAT IT DOES NOT GO INTO THE OXYGEN LINE. IF IT DOES, THERE IS A RISK OF BLOCKAGE OF THE DOWNSTREAM FILTERS AND ORIFICES.
   (1) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-Fuel and Oxidized Environment Fluorinated - (Material No.03GEE1) on the first three male threads of the oxygen couplings.
   (2) FOR [3HT1] (LP SOLENOID SUPPLY VALVE)
     (a) Remove the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (5) from the BAG - VINYL, SEALED.
     (b) Put the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (5) in position on its supports.
     (c) Make sure that the flow arrow on the sidewall of the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (5) points in the correct direction.
     (d) Install the washers (1), the screws (2) and the nuts (9).
     (e) Tighten the nuts (9).
     (f) Remove the flexible pipe (8) from the BAG - VINYL.
     (g) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the flexible pipe (8).
     (h) Install the new AIPC 35-12-81-09-010 RING FOR FLARED TUBE (7) on the flexible pipe (8).
     (i) Install the flexible pipe (8) on the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (5).
     (j) TORQUE the coupling nut of the flexible pipe (8) to between 20.3 and 14.7 m.N (14.97 and 10.84 lbf.ft )
T.
     (k) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
     (l) Remove the pipe (3) from the BAG - VINYL.
     (m) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the pipe (3).
     (n) Remove the union (10) from the BAG - VINYL.
     (o) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the union (10).
     (p) Install the new AIPC 35-12-81-09-010 BUSH (4) on the pipe (3).
     (q) Install the new
AIPC 35-12-81-09-010 BUSH (11) on the pipe (3).
     (r) Put the pipe (3) in position and make sure that the arrow points in the correct direction.
     (s) Install the pipe (3) on the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (5) and the union (10).
     (t) TORQUE the coupling nut of the pipe (3) on the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (5) and the union (10) to between 20.3 and 14.7 m.N (14.97 and 10.84 lbf.ft )
T.
     (u) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (v) Connect the electrical connector (6) to the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (5).
   (3) FOR [3HT2] (LP SOLENOID SUPPLY VALVE)
     (a) Remove the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (18) from the BAG - VINYL, SEALED.
     (b) Put the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (18) in position on its supports.
     (c) Make sure that the flow arrow on the sidewall of the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (18) points in the correct direction.
     (d) Install the washers (13), the screws (12) and the nuts (22).
     (e) Tighten the nuts (22).
     (f) Remove the rigid pipe (16) from the BAG - VINYL.
     (g) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the rigid pipe (16).
     (h) Remove the union (14) from the BAG - VINYL.
     (i) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the union (14).
     (j) Install the new AIPC 35-12-81-11-030 BUSH (17) on the rigid pipe (16).
     (k) Install the new
AIPC 35-12-81-11-030 BUSH (15) on the rigid pipe (16).
     (l) Put the rigid pipe (16) in position and make sure that the arrow points in the correct direction.
     (m) Install the rigid pipe (16) on the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (18) and the union (14).
     (n) TORQUE the coupling nut of the rigid pipe (16) on the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (18) and the union (14) to between 20.3 and 14.7 m.N (14.97 and 10.84 lbf.ft )
T.
     (o) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
     (p) Remove the pipe (21) from the BAG - VINYL.
     (q) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the pipe (21).
     (r) Remove the union (24) from the BAG - VINYL.
     (s) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the union (24).
     (t) Install the new AIPC 35-12-81-11-030 BUSH (20) on the pipe (21).
     (u) Install the new
AIPC 35-12-81-11-030 BUSH (23) on the pipe (21).
     (v) Put the pipe (21) in position and make sure that the arrow points in the correct direction.
     (w) Install the pipe (21) on the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (18) and the union (24).
     (x) TORQUE the coupling nut of the pipe (21) on the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (18) and the union (24) to between 20.3 and 14.7 m.N (14.97 and 10.84 lbf.ft )
T.
     (y) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (z) Connect the electrical connector (19) to the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve (18).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

Subtask 35-13-51-790-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Test of the LP Oxygen-Supply Solenoid-Valves
   (1) On the lower ECAM DU, select the DOOR/OXY page.
   (2) In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of the overhead control and indicating panel 21VU, push the CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch (the OFF legend goes off):
  • On the lower ECAM DU, the REGUL 1+2 LO PR indication comes into view.
   (3) Apply Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) to the mechanical connections of the LP oxygen-supply solenoid-valve(s) which was(were) replaced.
   (4) Turn the two manual-shutoff valves of the crew oxygen-storage cylinders 5750HM1 and 5750HM2 very slowly until they are fully open.
  • On the lower ECAM DU, the REGUL 1+2 LO PR indication goes off.
   (5) Examine each connection to make sure that there are no leaks.
   (6) Rub off the Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (7) On the C/B panel 49VU open circuit breaker 1HT:
  • On the lower ECAM DU, the REGUL 1+2 LO PR indication stays off.
   (8) On the C/B panel 49VU close circuit breaker 1HT:
  • On the lower ECAM DU, the REGUL 1+2 LO PR indication stays off.
   (9) In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of the overhead control and indicating panel 21VU:
  • Release the CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch (the OFF legend comes on).
   (10) On the Captain oxygen-mask stowage-box, push and hold the PRESS TO TEST AND RESET control button.
At the same time push and hold the PRESS TO TEST/EMERGENCY knob on the Captain oxygen-mask regulator until:
  • You no longer hear the sound of the oxygen flow and
  • The flow rate indicator is black.
   (11) On the First-Officer oxygen-mask stowage-box push and hold the PRESS TO TEST AND RESET control button.
At the same time push and hold the PRESS TO TEST/EMERGENCY knob on the First-Officer oxygen-mask regulator until:
  • You no longer hear the sound of the oxygen flow and
  • The flow rate indicator is black.
   (12) On the DOOR/OXY page of the lower ECAM DU, the REGUL 1+2 LO PR indication comes on amber.
5. Close-up
Subtask 35-13-51-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
     (a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) from the cockpit.
     (b) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) from the manual-shutoff valves of the crew oxygen-storage cylinders 5750HM1 and 5750HM2.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE VALVES OF STORAGE CYLINDERS 5750HM1 AND 5750HM2 ARE FULLY OPEN. IF THE VALVES ARE NOT FULLY OPEN, THE ECAM CAN RECEIVE AN INCORRECT INDICATION FROM THE PRESSURE SENSOR.
   (4) Make sure that the two manual-shutoff valves of the crew oxygen-storage cylinders 5750HM1 and 5750HM2 are fully open.
  • If the manual-shutoff valves are not fully open, open them again.
   (5) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

B. Close Access
   (1) Close access door 812.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
