Special Precautions When Working on a Gaseous Oxygen System
3. Job Set-up
Subtask 35-13-41-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the special precautions when you do work on a gaseous oxygen system (Ref. AMM TASK 35-00-00-860-001).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at access door 812.
   (3) Make sure that access door 812 is open.
   (4) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the crew oxygen system.
   (6) Make sure that the valve of the oxygen storage cylinder (5750HM) is closed.
   (7) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to open the valve of the oxygen storage cylinder (5750HM).

4. Procedure

B. Leak Test of the Connections in the Test Line
   (1) Apply oxygen leak detector Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.
14CCB6) to all the connections that were disconnected or loosened.
   (2) Slowly and fully open the valve of the oxygen storage cylinder (5750HM).
   (3) In the cockpit, on the overhead control and indicator panel 21VU, push the OXYGEN/CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch (the OFF legend goes off).
   (4) Examine the connections to make sure that there are no leaks.
   (5) Fully close the valve of the oxygen storage cylinder (5750HM).
   (6) Bleed the crew oxygen system:
     (a) On an oxygen-mask stowage box, push and hold the PRESS TO TEST AND RESET control button and at the same time, push and hold the PRESS TO TEST/EMERGENCY knob on the mask regulator until the system is empty.
     (b) On the overhead control and indicator panel 21VU, release the OXYGEN/CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch (the OFF legend comes on).
     (c) On the overhead control and indicator panel 21VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to push the OXYGEN/CREWSUPPLY pushbutton switch.
   (7) Remove the oxygen leak detector Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) from the connections with a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
5. Close-up

A. Installation of the cap
   (1) Install the cap on the coupling (7).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Close Access
   (1) Open the valve of the oxygen storage cylinder (5750HM).
CAUTION: TURN THE HANDVALVES ON ALL OXYGEN BOTTLES UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY OPEN. IF THE HANDVALVES ARE NOT FULLY OPEN BEFORE FLIGHT, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE OXYGEN PRESSURE DATA ON THE ECAM DOOR/OXY PAGE WILL NOT BE CORRECT.
     (a) Slowly and fully open the valve of the oxygen storage cylinder (5750HM).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Close access door 812.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

D. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
