B. Get Access
(1) In the cockpit, put a warning notice on the center pedestal to tell persons not to operate the weather radar.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position.
(3) Open radome 110AL (Ref. AMM TASK 53-15-11-010-001).
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the access door 811.
(5) Open access door 811.
4. Procedure(1) In the cockpit, put a warning notice on the center pedestal to tell persons not to operate the weather radar.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position.
(3) Open radome 110AL (Ref. AMM TASK 53-15-11-010-001).
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the access door 811.
(5) Open access door 811.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS RELATED TO THE WEATHER RADAR ARE OPENED, SAFETIED AND TAGGED.
Subtask 34-41-41-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Removal of the Flexible Wave-Guide Part (9) Connected to the Mounting Tray of the Weather Radar Transceiver
(2) Disconnect the flange (10).
(3) Remove and discard the two O-rings (3).
(4) Remove and check the window-pressurization (11). The window pressurization must not show any evidence of damage. If it does discard it. If not it can be reused.
(6) Disconnect the flange (8) from the flange (7).
(7) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(8) Remove the flexible wave-guide part (9).
(9) Put CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected ends.
Subtask 34-41-41-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Remove the lockwire and then the four screws (15) and the four washers (14). (2) Disconnect the flange (10).
(3) Remove and discard the two O-rings (3).
(4) Remove and check the window-pressurization (11). The window pressurization must not show any evidence of damage. If it does discard it. If not it can be reused.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(5) At the other end, remove the lockwire and then the four screws (5) and washers (6). (6) Disconnect the flange (8) from the flange (7).
(7) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(8) Remove the flexible wave-guide part (9).
(9) Put CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected ends.
B. Removal of the Rigid Wave-Guide Part (12) Installed in the Avionics Compartment
(2) Disconnect the flange (8).
(3) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(5) Hold the rigid wave-guide part (12) and remove the screw (18) and the washer (17) which attach the clamp (16) to the structure.
(6) Move the rigid wave-guide part (12) away from the structure.
(7) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(8) Remove the clamp (16) and the two half bushings (19) from the wave guide.
(9) Remove the rigid wave-guide part (12).
(10) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 34-41-41-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Remove the lockwire and then the four screws (5) and the four washers (6). (2) Disconnect the flange (8).
(3) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(4) At the wave guide feedthrough (21), remove the lockwire and then the four screws (31) and the four washers (30). (5) Hold the rigid wave-guide part (12) and remove the screw (18) and the washer (17) which attach the clamp (16) to the structure.
(6) Move the rigid wave-guide part (12) away from the structure.
(7) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(8) Remove the clamp (16) and the two half bushings (19) from the wave guide.
(9) Remove the rigid wave-guide part (12).
(10) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
C. Removal of the Wave Guide Feedthrough (21)
(2) Remove the eight screws (29), the washers (28) and the nuts (27).
(3) Move the wave guide feedthrough (21) away from the pressure bulkhead (23).
(4) Remove and discard the packing (22).
(5) Remove the wave guide feedthrough (21)
(6) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 34-41-41-020-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: Two persons are necessary to remove the wave guide feedthrough.
(1) If necessary, remove the two rigid wave-guide parts (12) and (32) which are connected to the feedthrough. Refer to Para.4.B. above and Para. 4.D. below. (2) Remove the eight screws (29), the washers (28) and the nuts (27).
(3) Move the wave guide feedthrough (21) away from the pressure bulkhead (23).
(4) Remove and discard the packing (22).
(5) Remove the wave guide feedthrough (21)
(6) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
D. Removal of the Rigid Wave-Guide Part (32) Installed in the Radome
(2) Disconnect the flange (2). Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(4) Hold the rigid wave-guide part (32) and remove the screw (18) and the washer (17) which attach the clamp (16) to the structure.
(5) Move the rigid wave-guide part (32) away from the structure.
(6) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(7) Remove the clamp (16) and the two half bushings (19) from the wave guide.
(8) Remove the rigid wave-guide part (32)
(9) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 34-41-41-020-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Remove the lockwire and then the four screws (33) and the washers (34). (2) Disconnect the flange (2). Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(3) At the wave guide feedthrough (21), remove the lockwire and then the four screws (25) and the four washers (26). (4) Hold the rigid wave-guide part (32) and remove the screw (18) and the washer (17) which attach the clamp (16) to the structure.
(5) Move the rigid wave-guide part (32) away from the structure.
(6) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(7) Remove the clamp (16) and the two half bushings (19) from the wave guide.
(8) Remove the rigid wave-guide part (32)
(9) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
E. Removal of the Flexible Wave-Guide Part (1) Connected to the Antenna Drive
(1) Release the quick-disconnect attach (35).
(2) Disconnect the flange (36) from the antenna drive.
(3) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(4) Remove the screw (18) and the washer (17).
(5) Then remove the clamp (16) and the two half bushings (19) from the wave guide.
(7) Disconnect the flange (2) from the flange (4).
Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(8) Remove the flexible wave-guide part (1).
(9) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(1) Release the quick-disconnect attach (35).
(2) Disconnect the flange (36) from the antenna drive.
(3) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(4) Remove the screw (18) and the washer (17).
(5) Then remove the clamp (16) and the two half bushings (19) from the wave guide.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(6) At the other end, remove the lockwire and then the four screws (33) and the four washers (34). (7) Disconnect the flange (2) from the flange (4).
Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
(8) Remove the flexible wave-guide part (1).
(9) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
