CAUTION: BEFORE YOU CORRECT THE DATE, MAKE SURE THAT:
  • THE AIRCRAFT IS NOT IN THE HANGAR
  • THE GPS POSITION OF THE AIRCRAFT IS CORRECT.
IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, THE DATE AND POSITION DATA FOR THE MULTI-MODE RECEIVER CAN BECOME INCORRECT.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) On the overhead panel, on the ADIRS CDU, make sure that the three OFF/NAV/ATT selector switches are at the OFF position.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) On ADIRS MSU panel 41VU, make sure that the three OFF/NAV/ATT selector switches are at the OFF position.

C. Clock Adjustment
   (1) Make sure that the MMR is off not less than four hours before you do these steps:
     (a) On rear C/B panel 121VU, close circuit breaker 4FS.
     (b) On overhead C/B panel 49VU, close circuit breaker 6FS.
     (c) On the center instrument panel, on clock 2FS, set the GPS/INT/SET selector switch to SET.
     (d) Set the correct date on the clock.
     (e) Set the GPS/INT/SET selector switch to INT and make sure that the correct date is shown on the clock.
4. Procedure
Subtask 34-36-00-860-148-A
A. Correction of the Date on the Aircraft with one or more Defective MMRs
ACTION
RESULT
1.On overhead C/B panel 49VU and rear C/B panel 121VU:
  • Close circuit breakers 10CA1 and 10CA2.

2.Do the IR alignment (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-004).
NOTE: During the IR alignment, the date is transmitted to the ADIRU from the clock through the CFDIU.

3.Wait for five minutes after the IR alignment.

4.On the MCDU:
On the MCDU:
  • Adjust the intensity of light of the MCDU screen.

  • Push the line key adjacent to the FMGC indication.
  • The FMGC page comes into view.
  • Push the INIT key on the MCDU.
  • The INIT page comes into view with the FROM/TO indication.
  • Enter a code in the FROM/TO field.
  • On the MCDU scratchpad line (bottom of the screen), the "CHECK DATA BASE CYCLE" message does not come into view.
NOTE: This message comes into view when the FMS gives an incorrect date.
5.On overhead C/B panel 49VU:
  • Close circuit breaker 42RT1.

6.On the MCDU:
On the MCDU:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the DATA key.
  • The DATA INDEX page comes into view.
  • Push the line key adjacent to the GPS MONITOR indication.
  • The GPS MONITOR page comes into view.

  • On the GPS MONITOR page, the "NAV" MMR status is shown below the MODE indication for GPS1.
7.On the center instrument panel, on clock 2FS:
  • Set the GPS/INT/SET selector switch to GPS.

  • Make sure that the date on the clock is correct.

NOTE: If the date is incorrect, the MMR installed on side 1 cannot be corrected. The MMR must be sent back to the supplier for the correction of the NVM.

8.Wait for five minutes.

9.On rear C/B panel 121VU:
  • Close circuit breaker 42RT2.

10.On the MCDU:
On the MCDU:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the DATA key.
  • The DATA INDEX page comes into view.
  • Push the line key adjacent to the GPS MONITOR indication.
  • The GPS MONITOR page comes into view.

  • On the GPS MONITOR page, the "NAV" MMR status is shown below the MODE indication for GPS2.
11.Wait for five minutes.

B. Check of the Date on the Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR) Installed on Side 2
ACTION
RESULT
1.On overhead circuit-breaker panel 49VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 42RT1.

2.On rear circuit-breaker panel 121VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 42RT2.

3.On the overhead panel, on the ADIRS CDU, set the three OFF/NAV/ATT selector switches to OFF.

4.On the center instrument panel, on clock 2FS:
  • Set the GPS/INT/SET selector switch to INT.

5.On rack 90VU, interchange the location of MMR1 (40RT1) and MMR2 (40RT2) (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-400-001).

6.On overhead circuit-breaker panel 49VU:
On the MCDU:
  • Close circuit breaker 42RT1.
  • Wait for 10 minutes.
  • On the GPS MONITOR page, the "NAV" MMR status is shown below the MODE indication for GPS1.
7.On the center instrument panel, on clock 2FS:
  • Set the GPS/INT/SET selector switch to GPS.
  • Make sure that the date shown on the clock is correct.
NOTE: If the date is incorrect, the MMR installed on side 1 cannot be corrected. The MMR must be sent back to the supplier for the correction of the NVM.

8.On rear circuit-breaker panel 121VU:
  • Close circuit breaker 42RT2.

9.On the overhead panel, on the ADIRS CDU, set the three OFF/NAV/ATT selector switches to NAV.
On the MCDU, on the GPS MONITOR page, the "NAV" MMR status is shown below the MODE indication for GPS2.
10.On the MCDU:
On the MCDU:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the FMGC indication.
  • The FMGC page comes into view.
  • Push the INIT key on the MCDU.
  • The INIT page comes into view with the FROM/TO indication.
  • Enter a code in the FROM/TO field.
  • On the MCDU scratchpad line (bottom of the screen), the "CHECK DATA BASE CYCLE" message does not come into view.
NOTE: This message comes into view when the FMS gives an incorrect date.

  • On the GPS MONITOR page, the "NAV" MMR status is shown below the MODE indication for GPS1 and GPS2.
11.On rack 90VU, put the two MMRs back to their initial locations (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-400-001).

12.Make sure that:
  • The clock shows the correct date
  • The two MMRs are correct.

B. Check of the Date on the Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR) Installed on Side 2

1.On overhead circuit-breaker panel 49VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 42RT1.

2.On rear circuit-breaker panel 121VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 42RT2.

3.On ADIRS MSU panel 41VU, set the three OFF/NAV/ATT selector switches to OFF.

4.On the center instrument panel, on clock 2FS:
  • Set the GPS/INT/SET selector switch to INT.

5.On rack 90VU, interchange the location of MMR1 (40RT1) and MMR2 (40RT2) (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-400-001).

6.On overhead circuit-breaker panel 49VU:
On the MCDU:
  • Close circuit breaker 42RT1.
  • Wait for 10 minutes.
  • On the GPS MONITOR page, the "NAV" MMR status is shown below the MODE indication for GPS1.
7.On the center instrument panel, on clock 2FS:
  • Set the GPS/INT/SET selector switch to GPS.
  • Make sure that the date shown on the clock is correct.

12.Make sure that:
  • The clock shows the correct date
  • The two MMRs are correct.

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Do the ADIRS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-005).
   (3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
