CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY THE PROCEDURE CAREFULLY WHEN YOU INSTALL ON THE AIRCRAFT AN AUXILIARY MULTI-MODE RECEIVER (MMR) WITH THE CORRECT INTERNAL DATE. IF YOU DO NOT FULLY OBEY THE PROCEDURE, THERE IS AN IMPORTANT RISK THAT YOU WILL GET AN INCORRECT DATE FOR THE AUXILIARY MMR.

1. Reason for the Job
NOTE: This procedure corrects the date of the Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR) in case of incorrect data used by MMR.
NOTE: To complete this procedure is used an auxiliary MMR with correct internal date from the shop or from another aircraft.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the panel 20VU, on the ADIRS CDU, set the OFF/NAV/ATT selector switches to OFF (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-005).
   (2) Remove the MMR1 (40RT1) and the MMR2 (40RT2) (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-000-001).
   (3) Install the auxiliary MMR into the MMR1 position (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-400-001).
   (4) Install the removed MMR1 (40RT1) into the MMR2 position (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-400-001).

D. Clock Setting
   (1) On center instrument panel 400VU, on clock 2FS, set the GPS/INT/SET selector switch to SET.
   (2) Set the correct date on the clock.
   (3) Set the GPS/INT/SET selector switch to INT and make sure that the correct date is shown on the clock.
NOTE: If the correct date is not shown, the date in the auxiliary MMR installed in the MMR1 position is also incorrect.

F. Check of the Date
   (1) On the panel 20VU, on the ADIRS CDU, set the OFF/NAV/ATT selector switches to NAV (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-002).
   (2) Make sure that the correct date is used:

1.Adjust the brightness of the MCDU screen.

2.Push the line key adjacent to the FMGC indication.
  • The FMGC page comes into view.
3.Push the INIT key on the MCDU.
  • The INIT page with FROM/TO indication comes into view.
  • Make sure that on the MCDU scratchpad line (last line) the message "CHECK DATA BASE CYCLE" does not comes into view.
NOTE: This message comes into view in case of incorrect date provided by the Flight Management System (FMS).

H. Correction of the Date
   (1) Check of the GPS2 POSTION data:

On the MCDU:
1.Adjust the brightness of the MCDU screen.
On the MCDU:
2.Push the DATA key on the MCDU.
  • The DATA INDEX page comes into view.
3.Push the line key adjacent to the GPS MONITOR indication.
  • The GPS MONITOR page comes into view.
  • NAV indication comes into view below the MODE indication for GPS2.
  • Make sure that the values for the GPS1 and GPS2 are approximately the same.
   (2) On panel 400VU, on the clock 2FS, make sure that the GPS/INT/SET selector switch is set to GPS.
   (3) Record the date on the clock.
NOTE: The correct date is shown.
   (4) Wait for 5 supplementary minutes after NAV mode transition.
NOTE: This supplementary time correspond to a cycle time during which the MMR rewrites data in its Non Volatile Memory (NVM).

   (1) On the panel 20VU, on the ADIRS CDU, set the OFF/NAV/ATT selector switches to OFF (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-005).
   (2) Remove the auxiliary MMR from MMR1 (40RT1) position and MMR1 from MMR2 (40RT2) position (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-000-001).
   (3) Install the removed MMR1 into its position and the removed MMR2 into its position (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-400-001).

If not, the date in the MMR installed into MMR1 position is incorrect.
