3. Job Set-up

CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE TEACH-IN PROCEDURE TO CLEAR EPSU FAILURE MESSAGES. THE TEACH-IN PROCEDURE IS NOT A SYSTEM RESET. IT CAN CHANGE THE EMERGENCY LIGHT CONFIGURATION AND CAUSE HIDDEN FAILURES.

NOTE: The teach-in procedure of the EPSUs measures and keeps the load values that are related to each EPSU. The EPSU controller refers to these load values when the BITE test of the emergency lighting system operates. Thus, it is necessary that the emergency lights of the related EPSUs operate correctly during the teach-in procedure.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL on the overhead panel 25VU is in the OFF position.
(2) Make sure that the LIGHT EMER pushbutton switch and its integral light on the forward attendant panel 120RH are off.

4. Procedure
Subtask 33-51-19-910-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

B. Installation of the Seat-Mounted Emergency Light (BRUCE)

WARNING: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE EMERGENCY LIGHT OR THE LIGHT LENS, MAKE SURE THAT IT POINTS TO THE FLOOR. IF IT DOES NOT POINT TO THE FLOOR, THERE IS A RISK THAT, DURING EVACUATION: - THE PASSENGERS WILL GET THE LIGHT IN THEIR EYES - THE PASSENGERS WILL NOT SEE THE EMERGENCY ESCAPE PATH CORRECTLY.

(1) Installation of the Light Assembly
(a) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(b) Connect the electrical connector (6) to the electrical connector (7).
(c) Install the light housing (2) to the passenger seat.
Make sure that you hear a click when the light housing (2) locks in position.
(2) Installation of the Bulb of the Light
(a) Put a new AIPC 33-51-19-02-030 O-RING (4) on the lampholder (5).
(b) Install the bulb (3) in the lampholder (5).
(c) Push the lampholder (5) into the light housing (2).
(d) Install the light housing (2) to the passenger seat.
Make sure that you hear a click when the light housing (2) locks in position.

Subtask 33-51-19-420-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

C. Installation of the Wall-Mounted Emergency Light (BRUCE)

(1) Installation of the Light Assembly
(a) Put a new AIPC 33-51-19-02-030 O-RING (23) on the lampholder (24).
(b) Push the lampholder (24) into the light housing (21).
(c) Install the light housing (21) to the wall panel.
Make sure that you hear a click when the light housing (21) locks in position.
(2) Installation of the Bulb of the Light
(a) Put a new AIPC 33-51-19-02-030 O-RING (23) on the lampholder (24).
(b) Install the bulb (22) in the lampholder (24).
(c) Push the lampholder (24) into the light housing (21).
(d) Install the light housing (21) to the wall panel.
Make sure that you hear a click when the light housing (21) locks in position.

D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Preparation for the Test

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE CIRCUITS IN MAINTENANCE ARE ISOLATED BEFORE YOU SUPPLY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT. UNWANTED ELECTRICAL POWER CAN BE DANGEROUS.

(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

F. Do the operational test of the cabin emergency lighting (Ref. AMM TASK 33-51-00-710-009).

A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
