3. Job Set-up
CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE TEACH-IN PROCEDURE TO CLEAR EPSU FAILURE MESSAGES. THE TEACH-IN PROCEDURE IS NOT A SYSTEM RESET. IT CAN CHANGE THE EMERGENCY LIGHT CONFIGURATION AND CAUSE HIDDEN FAILURES.
NOTE: The teach-in procedure of the EPSUs measures and keeps the load values that are related to each EPSU. The EPSU controller refers to these load values when the BITE test of the emergency lighting system operates. Thus, it is necessary that the emergency lights of the related EPSUs operate correctly during the teach-in procedure.

4. Procedure
Subtask 33-51-00-860-086-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Test
   (1) On overhead panel 25VU, make sure that EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL is in OFF position.
   (2) On overhead panel 25VU, make sure that NO SMOKING switch 190RH is in OFF position.
   (3) On Forward Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH, make sure that LIGHT EMER pushbutton switch and its integral light are off.

A. Preparation for Test
   (1) On overhead panel 25VU, make sure that EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL is in OFF position.
   (2) On overhead panel 25VU, make sure that NO SMOKING switch 190RH is in OFF position.
   (3) On Flight Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH, make sure that EMER pushbutton switch and its integral light are off.

A. Preparation for Test
   (1) On overhead panel 25VU, make sure that EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL is in OFF position.
   (2) On overhead panel 25VU, make sure that EXIT switch 190RH is in OFF position.
   (3) On Flight Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH, make sure that EMER button and its light are off.

A. Preparation for Test
   (1) On overhead panel 25VU, make sure that EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL is in OFF position.
   (2) On overhead panel 25VU, make sure that No PED switch 190RH is in OFF position.
   (3) On Flight Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH, make sure that EMER pushbutton switch and its integral light are off.

B. Operational Check of Manual Emergency Lighting Activation
   (1) For the locations of the emergency lights, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 33-51-00-00).
   (2) Do this test.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the LIGHT EMER or EMER pushbutton switch.
On FAP 120RH:
  • The red light of LIGHT EMER/EMER pushbutton switch comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The signs and the lights of the emergency lighting system come on.
2.On FAP 120RH:
  • Push the LIGHT EMER/EMER pushbutton switch.
On FAP 120RH:
  • The red light of LIGHT EMER/EMER pushbutton switch goes off.

In the cabin:
  • The signs and the lights of the emergency lighting system go off.
3.On AAP 126RH (if installed):
  • Push the LIGHT EMER or EMER pushbutton switch.
On AAP 126RH:
  • The red light of LIGHT EMER/EMER pushbutton switch comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The signs and the lights of the emergency lighting system come on.
4.On AAP 126RH (if installed):
  • Push the LIGHT EMER/EMER pushbutton switch.
On AAP 126RH:
  • The red light of LIGHT EMER/EMER pushbutton switch goes off.

In the cabin:
  • The signs and the lights of the emergency lighting system go off.
5.In the cockpit, on SIGNS panel 25VU:
  • Set EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL to ON position.
In the cockpit, on SIGNS panel 25VU:
  • The EMER EXIT LT OFF annunciator 5WL goes off.

In the cabin:
  • The signs and the lights of the emergency lighting system come on.
6.On SIGNS panel 25VU:
  • Set EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL to OFF position.
On SIGNS panel 25VU:
  • EMER EXIT LT OFF annunciator 5WL comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The signs and the lights of the emergency lighting system go off.

C. Operational Check of Manual Emergency Lighting Activation
   (1) For the locations of the emergency lights, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 33-51-00-00).
   (2) Do this test of both control panels and the emergency lighting system with circuit breakers 1WL and 2WL on circuit breaker panel 49VU.
   (3) The time to do the test must not be more than 3 minutes. This is to prevent the discharge of the emergency batteries.
ACTION
RESULT
1.In the cockpit, on SIGNS panel 25VU:
  • Set EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL to ARM position.
In the cockpit, on SIGNS panel 25VU:
  • EMER EXIT LT OFF annunciator 5WL goes off.
2.On circuit breaker panel 49VU:
  • Open circuit breakers 1WL and 2WL.
In the cabin:

  • The signs and the lights of the emergency lighting system come on.
  • Close circuit breakers 1WL and 2WL.
  • The signs and the lights of the emergency lighting system go off.
3.On SIGNS panel 25VU:
  • Set EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL to OFF position.
On SIGNS panel 25VU:
  • EMER EXIT LT OFF annunciator 5WL comes on.
